A hugely successful fundraising event was held at Bury Grammar School on 10th February. An incredible £16,000 was raised towards the Schools’ Building Appeal from a spectacular evening of hair and fashion with first class entertainment.
The event gave a delighted audience a glimpse of the very latest hair and fashion trends, whilst sipping champagne and enjoying a gourmet selection of canapés. The theme of the evening was 80s Luxe – look out, big hair and shoulder pads are back with a vengeance!
The Antony for Hair team created the ‘must have’ styles for men and women in 2010; Muse Womenswear showed a range of elegant outfits for ladies from top designers; CoCu Corset Couture presented their superb evening collection for that extra special event which were complemented by stylish formal suits from Swarbricks’ Menswear and Drurys displayed their chic and casual range.
Alongside the array of stunning outfits and hair styles a full programme of entertainment enchanted the guests. Revellers World Events provided two outstanding professional acts – a chilling ‘Thriller’ dance routine and the latest young boy band sang their unique version of Aint no Mountain High Enough (look out for them on the next series of Britain’s Got Talent).
School performers included the lovely Olivia Wood, who has already won a recording contract and Joe Schofield and Amber Barry who are currently appearing in Oliver. All three students wowed the audience with their singing.
A range of unique and fabulous prizes were available to the highest bidder, including VIP tickets to see Elbow and attend their private post-concert party.
The evening was a complete sell-out and left a delighted audience looking forward to the next event.
