FREE skills and training review for businesses in Greater Manchester!

Through City Deal funding, The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce is offering a FREE Skills & Training Review to businesses that operate within Greater Manchester. The Skills Review is a completely business led process that aims to put companies in touch with training that can help their staff develop and ultimately allow their business to grow. Many small businesses simply don’t have the time or resource to search for training courses and often don’t know what funding is available. This service is designed to take that workload on for the company.

To go through the review, one of the Chamber's experienced Skills Advisors goes into the business and takes a detailed description of what training is required. Following this, a comprehensive training plan is then created and sent to the business so they can review the options and with the support of their Business Skills Advisor decide what to do next.

Key benefits to the business are:

Many small businesses do not have a dedicated HR or Training Manager and therefore have no internal expertise. We can provide external expertise and support to assist these businesses
We will help businesses identify what training their staff require
We will identify organisations that can deliver the required training
Where possible identify potential sources of grants/ funding
Most importantly - businesses that invest in training perform better.

Eligibility Criteria:

Not all employers are eligible for a skills review. Currently, our funding allows us to work with employers that meet the following criteria:

Organisations must employ between 2 and 49 employees.
The employer must not have accessed any mainstream (Skills Funding Agency) funded training during the last 12 months.
The employer must be based in Greater Manchester.
