What are Apprenticeships?

Apprenticeships are high quality work based learning programmes that have been designed and developed to work alongside employment to improve understanding, skills and ultimately your future career prospects through gaining nationally recognised qualifications.

Bury College Apprenticeships provide outstanding training to both employers and learners by combining quality employment with exceptional work-based training programmes.

Are Apprenticeships for new or existing staff?

We can provide Apprenticeships training for existing staff as well as for new recruits. We will discuss the best training plan to meet the needs of the individual and your business. We can assist with the recruitment of staff as an additional ‘no cost’ service.

How is training delivered?

Learning is flexible and is completed mainly in the work place at times that is convenient to the employer and the learner. Some Apprenticeship programmes require a day or evening attendance at College. Each learner is allocated an individual Assessor to supervise and monitor their progress throughout the duration of the training scheme.

What entry requirements are there?

There are no formal qualifications to go onto an Apprenticeship.

How much does an Apprenticeship cost?

There is NO COST* to the trainee or the employer for Apprenticeship training. The only cost to the employer is the trainee’s salary (if you was to recruit apprentice).

What are the progression routes?

Following an Apprenticeship (NVQ) Level 2, Apprentices can progress with funding to NVQ Level 3.
