Dale's Three Peaks Challenge for Bury Hospice

Bury Hospice is a local independent registered charity delivering end of life care and provides support to terminally ill patients and their loved ones.  Bury Hospice costs around £3 million to run each year. With less than 20% of the running cost being funded by NHS, it is essential that they raise the remaining 80% from other sources.  They welcome the support from fundraising and donations, so Dale hopes to raise a substantial sum with his Three Peaks Challenge this year.

The Three Peaks Challenge is an immensely demanding walking challenge to scale the largest peaks in the UK.  The challenge usually starts with Ben Nevis in Scotland, followed by Scafell Pike in the Lake District and then finishes with Snowdon in Wales.  Intrepid walkers like Dale normally complete the Three Peaks Challenge within a couple of days, with the well earned rest grabbed during the road journey between each walk.

Dale is looking for sponsors and donations, but has one really big request which he’s asked thebestof Bury for help to find.

Do you own a minibus or van?  Would you be willing to donate your time as a driver and cover the cost of the fuel too?  This is a huge ask, but it will ensure that all the money raised will be available for the Bury Hospice to support and care for local people.

Can you help?

If you have a van or want to sponsor this event, please contact Dale at Ramsbottom Roofing on his mobile number, 07821 069638 or visit his feature here
