Choosing the Right Solicitor

It can be a daunting task choosing the right solicitor to represent you following a personal injury. Some people have longstanding relationships with a particular firm of solicitors, or specific solicitors but for a lot of people it can be difficult to know where to start.

Choosing the right solicitor to deal with your claim is a decision that should not be made lightly. As with any profession, no two solicitors are the same.

When choosing a solicitor, it is important to find a solicitor with the right expertise and experience to handle your claim. We recommend doing your research before choosing which solicitor to use. For example, you may want to know whether they have handled similar cases to yours in the past, or what their success rate is. Don’t be afraid to ask these questions. If you experience a poor level of service whilst making your first enquiry, then you are likely to expect the same level of service ongoing.

Recommendations from people you know, and trust are important. Most of our clients come to us because of recommendations from satisfied former clients. Others decide to instruct us following an initial conversation.

A larger firm does not necessarily mean a better firm. Just because a firm has a lot of solicitors working for them and have a large marketing budget does not make them the right firm for you. At Aston Knight

Solicitors, we have taken over matters for clients who originally instructed large national firms. Often these firms employ more junior employees such as paralegals to run the case on a day-to-day basis. At Aston Knight Solicitors we are committed to ensuring cases are dealt with by experienced solicitors, with excellent track records, at all times. We believe that Better Solicitors means Better Results.

Choosing a solicitor local to where you live can be an important consideration.

If you live local to Bury, choosing a solicitor in Bury has many advantages, particular in complex matters where frequent face to face meetings can be beneficial. In some cases, it is necessary to carry out a site inspection and having a solicitor local can be advantageous as they are able to undertake a site inspection and will often have personal knowledge of the area.

Aston Knight Solicitors has also been the choice of many clients where the most important criterion is being represented by a solicitor in Bury; for example, high value property dispute matters, commercial dispute claims, and divorce matters to name but a few, where face to face meetings are particularly helpful.

However, with email, Skype, Zoom and other mobile technology keeping in contact with your solicitor is now much easier and therefore it is not essential to instruct a local solicitor. Aston Knight Solicitors act for clients throughout England and Wales; ranging from simple matters such as a whiplash injury sustained in a road traffic accident, to a complex injury at work matter resulting in the amputation of a finger, to the tragic death of a new born baby following the negligence of the NHS.
