14 Top Dating Tips For You:

A first date is full of possibility and potential. It can be that important first step towards the life and love that you imagine for yourself. However, that first step can often at times be nerve-wracking, if not frightening. Have no fear! The Introduction Agency is here to guide you through the rough waters of the dating world. We have brought together our top dating tips such that you will be able to embark on your next first date with confidence and excitement.

1. Remember to mind your appearance. First dates are all about first (and lasting!) impressions, so remember to shower, get your hair sorted, and to wear something nice.
2. Don’t turn up with nothing to talk about. It is easy to fall into a conversational rut, so pick out a few conversation topics pre-date. Commonalities within your profiles or something you thought was intriguing about them from their profile.
3. Be truthful! If you and your date have nothing in common, it is best to find out now.
4. Banish negativity. There is a time for all things, but a first date is not the time to complain about how much you dislike your co-worker (or ex!). Remember: positivity is infectious and alluring.
5. Don’t overdo it the first time around. Try a casual coffee date, rather than a more intense dinner date.
6. Don’t dominate the conversation. Although it can be easy to ramble on about ourselves, remember to ask your date questions, in order to keep the conversation balanced.
7. Put forward your best effort, but don’t “try too hard”. Neediness and desperation are not alluring.
8. Be open-minded! Try to keep yourself open to new experiences, ideas, and people … you never know what might change your life!
9. Don’t be too disappointed if your date isn’t exactly “your type”. Remember to be open-minded, and keep in mind that the people we imagine ourselves with are very rarely the type we end up falling for.
10. If it doesn’t work out, don’t sweat it! No dating experience is a failed experience: likely, you have learned something you can apply to your next date.
11. Men: Don’t discount the power of flowers. Consider buying your date a bouquet.
12. Women: Don’t assume that he will pay. Great if he does, but it’s a modern world; consider splitting the bill.
13. If it goes well, don’t hesitate to arrange another date!
14. Remember: you are looking for somebody who likes you, so be yourself, and abandon all false fronts.

Dating should be as fun, stress-free, and enriching as possible - we hope this has helped!
