I receive emails promoting the village,s red card deals so use them at our local Village hotel in Bury.

Pint and half for the price of a pint.. can’t go wrong plus order a burger & chips for £9. Get set up here in Bury with real friendly staff. Even the bar manager looks after us too.

Great venue & atmosphere

Easy Access from 4 Major Motor ways, great facilities, including a well stocked bar. The food menu is extensive with good variety. Staffing levels are superb with a great welcome. Rooms are clean and tidy no reason to complain - short or long stay you will be impressed.

We stayed here on Friday night for the 90s tribute night. There was 9 of us in our party. My husband booked three of the rooms two being club rooms one a standard on check in the standard room had been upgraded to a club also. Friends of ours booked standard and on check in were also upgraded for free! Having paid more for our room as you can imagine we wasn’t happy the others were upgraded for free not only that the free upgrade rooms were a lot better than ours! NOT IMPRESSED!!!
The tv in our room was broken, on ringing reception someone was in the room within minutes to fix the problem!
When getting ready I dropped my ring, it rolled under the bed on moving the bed we found a used condom eeeewww not what anyone wants to find!!!
The 90s night was ok, having attended other nights at village hotels this was the worst one.
Staff serving the food seemed they would rather be anywhere other than where they was!
We had a couple in our party with very severe allergies, this was made know at time of booking but yet each time a course was brought out we were all served the same thing!! Not good when someone’s so severely allergic it’s life threatening!!
If you wanted a drink you needed to know half hour before as the staff on the bar were very slow only having two members serving! Sometimes only one as if they needed something one member had to go to the cellar customer being told ‘are you sure you don’t want something different as will take me a while to walk there and back’
Not the right attitude to have!!
Having been there to celebrate my birthday we made a good of night of it as we could.
Beds comfy
Rooms need better cleaning
Meal lovely
Breakfast blank
Hotel grounds clean

My friends and I attended a 90s evening here. It was ok. For what we paid, food was good and the music was fab! However only 2 people serving at the bar(slowly) so the queues were huge. Rooms are very dated and look tatty.

A one night stay after attending an evening function. I was allocated a room a long way from reception that involved going up 1 floor traversing a myriad of corridors and then descending 2 floors to get to what was a good big room with a great bathroom, but unfortunately a door to the corridor that would not close securely.
As the hotel doubles as a leisure centre there was an interesting mix of visitors.

Breakfast was disappointing, ordered poached eggs which were like 2 snooker cue balls! While I was making toast a server cleared my breakfast away, looked very sheepish when I said I hadn't finished, I had left belongings on the table as a clue.

Nice hotel on the outskirts of Bury. Friendly staff.
Was upgraded free to a lovely club room with really good quality amenities
[although there was a leaking water sound all day/ night long which was noisy].
Generally good experience and would recommend.

Hot tip: Avoid black cabs which charge twice as much as the others.

Check was simple, accommodation was good and good value. Badly let down by the quality of the bar food (the chicken in the warm noodles was cold an tough), and the staff (we observed one removing the seals from mayonnaise bottles with her teeth. Hotel management seem surprisingly unbothered by this.

We attended the new years eve party had a great night with 4 different rooms to choose 80s 90s 70s and a band it was really busy and a great atmosphere all different age groups of people. Buffet looked really good but we had already eaten so can't say but I heard others saying it was good. Will definitely go to another party night it's so much easier than wondering around a town or city to find a good venue especially on new years eve. Staff were exceptional really friendly and so helpful particularly the young lady on reception. Our room was a club room it was spotless and the bed was really comfortable really good shower.Breakfast included, buffet style plenty of choice also very good.great value looking forward to returning for another party night.

Reception staff were super friendly and welcoming, the bar is clean and well looked after. There are two huge TVs surround the bar area that are super cozy and feel like you're back at home. The room itself was clean, not spotless but clean enough for us to be happy. The beds were really uncomfortable, the pillows were flat and the duvet was heavy. The shower on the other hand was perfect, great pressure and nice large showerhead.

My little boys really enjoy the pool. The changing rooms are good but the last few times we have been they have been in need of a clean.
Also a guy took my towel from the poolside, the life guard immediately got me another.
The new layout for the eating area is really nice, a little too far away from the toilets when taking kids along.

Summary: Enjoyable stay with high specification room.
Our experience of the hotel was overall very good for a 'middle of the road' budget. Located on a business park, this hotel has good links to the rest of Manchester. The amenities were excellent which hosted a restaurant, café and pool/gym facilities.
The Club room we rested our heads in was very large with an even larger TV along with Sky channels. Another pro was the Dyson cooler fan which kept us chilled.
With the room situated near the back of the hotel, the view from the window was not great. One negative of the room was that it was unfortunately extremely dusty, this room may have been missed by accident but it was disappointing.
Noise volumes were not too loud and we did have a good night's sleep.
Something we will bear in mind for a future trip to Villages Hotels is that we have found the double beds are actually two single beds pushed together which is frustrating.
The breakfast in the hotel was nice and the coffee was of good standard, enough to wake us up in the morning. Overall, our stay here was enjoyable.

I attended an evening event at this amazing hotel. The entrance was grand and there were a bar and coffee shop in the main lobby as well. The venue hall used as spacious and had a reception room connected where the bar was placed. The food was amazing and so was the layout.
My only problem would be with the prices at the bar, for a half a pint of coca cola it cost £2.85. Other than this I would go again.

This is the second time we've stayed as a couple however my partner used to stay there when he was working near Manchester. Lovely hotel with great rooms, lovely food (only had breakfast this time), great leisure facilities and an on site Starbucks. Check in is automatic via a touch screen, but still someone there to make it go smoothly. We've had a club room when we've stayed (both times) but my partner used to have a standard room - all good. Nice touch having the Tassimo coffee maker, very large comfy bed and a fab selection of sky channels. The bathroom is a good size with an awesome shower and very nice shower gel etc (forgot mine!). The hairdryer is a good one too and didn't take ages to dry my hair (like you usually get). Easy to find and close to main routes. Read some reviews that said there was noise but we've never experienced any issues.
Will definitely stay there again!

Me & hubby had a very enjoyable 2 night stay. Only downside was missing out on our early cup of tea on the first morning as the drink machine in our room was broken & that was the first time trying to use it. However, the lovely housekeeper knew what was wrong with it & sorted it for us. The staff here in general were great, really friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Thank you x

Awesome place away from the city noise close to the nature. The best thing is the location. Right at the river banks. The banquet hall is good to. A lot of varieties in food and drink. The gym facilities are also good and the swimming pool is good too. Staff is friendly and co operative. Never ending parking spaces as well. Must visit once.

Interesting spot. We only went to eat at one of the restaurants so can't speak for the place as a whole.
I'm also not much of an 'all you can eat' location person but visiting friends this is where we went and we had a very good Sunday roast my only complaint is it was uncomfortable hot in the restaurant, I wonder if that's to stop you eating to much! Note that 1 kid eat free with every paying adult. (Check before had though just in case).

Let me start by saying that the staff at the village hotel were very helpful and friendly and did everything they could to give us a pleasant stay.
Unfortunately our experience at the village was not great. We had to move rooms because the first one we were given smelt of stale cigarettes and music from the bar was very loud in the room. The second room smelt better but again the music from the function room below kept us awake until around midnight. The rooms are also supposed to be air conditioned but this constituted little more than a weak Dyson cooling ring that could only cool small parts of the room for a limited amount of time. It would have been ok if we could have opened the window without increasing the volume of noise in the room.
On the whole the decor looked fairly worn with worn carpets, chipped paint and rotten window frames throughout.
The replacement of the front desk with a set of iPads gives the place an impersonal feel from arrival and the understaffed bar area was in need of a wipe down (again, I don't blame the staff who were working extremely hard)
I would have expected more for the price.
Fortunately the staff are a real testament to the hotel so hopefully they can turn it around so that the general standards of the hotel match the professionalism of the staff.

My hubby and i have stayed in many village hotels and Bury is the best.
We are currently staying here celebrating our wedding anniversary and when we arrived there was a complimentary bottle of prosecco in our room.
I would like to thank Sarah the manager, Ashley , Emma and the restaurant staff.
Breakfast and the meals we had were excellant.
We have stayed here many times and all the reception , bar and restaurant staff are fantastic. Never had as good service in any other hotel.

Top notch room, nice bar, staff smiling and friendly. However the staff could be more on there toes in the Grill restaurant, was slow to get food out to say it was quiet. Customer care lacked making sure everything was ok or if we needed anything. Overlooking that tho good experience.
