Very clean and spacious hotel. The staff need a little training on manners especially at reception. When I arrived I waited around 15 minutes to speak to the lady on reception who was dealing with another guest. The self check in terminals were not working. The lady on the front reception was too abrupt and fairly grumpy. I may of caught her on a bad day. First impressions last and this is what let the hotel down in my opinion and this was all before I even checked in. Later that day I was called asking to change hotels as this hotel had been over booked to which I declined as I was there on business. As the day went on the music in the bar/restaurant area became progressively louder to a point where we were raising our voices to talk.

I’ve recently spent a lot of time staying at this hotel and the village brand generally is always fantastic.

For this specific hotel the rooms are always immaculate (albeit never have a bath tub) and the customer service is always excellent! Also love the self check in / check out too.

The food situation however, is ridiculous! You have to eat in the bar, a bar that’s so loud you can’t hear yourself think! The food is slow, often comes out wrong or half of your table has eaten before the other half have even seen their meal that’s been ordered at the same time. I’ve stayed here on 5 separate occasions in the last 2 months and every single time I’ve had an issue. The first time, after a very long day at work we all arrived at the hotel very tired and very hungry! The bar was absolutely rammed and full of groups of noisy, battered teenagers / very young adults or what I can only describe as yobs on that evening. It was actually quite intimidating. We squeezed through a sea of standing groups of people everywhere to find a table. Ordered food, took long over an hour to come out and even then 3 of our group waited another 20 minutes for theirs. At this point it was pushing on for 9/9.30 pm and there was very few people eating but loads of people standing around drinking - no the the kind of atmosphere you want when your trying to eat. Despite there being hardly anyone eating now, when ordering a dessert I was told it would take 45 minutes.... 45 minutes to put some pre-made ice cream into a bowl? Really!? The next 3 nights were equally as bad.

The next few visits were similar although not so long of a wait for food.

My latest visit, i ordered a burger (big stack) and asked for no tomato or mushrooms in it. Burger turns up half an hour later with tomato and mushrooms in it, and also onions and salsa (which it doesn’t state in the menu by the way!) sent it back and told it would be 5 minutes. 25 minutes later I have to ask a waitress where my burger is given that the people i was with had finished and even had their plates cleared at this point! Burger finally comes out and i’m offered a free drink as an apology (which was a first and appreciated). In the mean time the 4 tables around us are continually asking where their food was as they had been waiting so long - it wasn’t even busy in comparison to how it has been! More so full of people getting bladdered as usual. This place simply cannot cope with food orders, the environment is not the kind of place you want to be eating! You literally have groups of loud and drunk people standing over you. It needs it’s own restaurant area.

My only other issue with this particular hotel in the chain is the parking! Hotel
Guests end up parking right over the back of the carpark as there is rarely any spaces near the front as they are all taken up by the gym users. Given genuine guests have luggage etc to haul across
the huge carpark, why not make the first half of the carpark for hotel
Guests only. If people are visiting a gym, i’m sure they won’t mind parking further away!

Finally, theres now an app where you can order your food and drink from (i guess so the people wanting to eat don’t clogg up the overcrowded bar) this was a great idea until i tried using it! No option for a soda water and lime, no option for special requests on food (what if someone had an allergy?) and no option to charge it to your room (we have a food allowance through our business booking so couldn’t pay for it directly)

All in all, great brand of hotels generally, but this particular one has the food and parking set up horribly wrong making the stay feel more like hassle rather than relaxing!

Stayed for one night, based on location. Room was lovely, very clean and very comfy bed. Breakfast ok, staff very helpful and friendly. Bar/ restaurant too loud, chose to eat in pub over the car park. Free parking amd great location off the motorway.

Brilliant trip to the village! We were on a low key hen do, spent the day in the spa. Had a 3 course meal and drinks in the evening. Mitchell really looked after us and made our night really special. The staff throughout were brilliant and the rooms lovely x

Only issue was other noisey guests. They were in and out of the room slamming doors throughout the early hours which is obviously no fault of the village.

The staff were all lovely, approachable and friendly. The hotel was mostly cleans an tidy.

Spa staff were lovely. I had a scalp massage which was ok but could of been better. My mum who was the other guest could not complain at all as her scalp massage was very enjoyable.

Stayed here before was lovely and clean. But this time was a let down like it’s lost it’s fence of pride hair in the shower. Dirty cups. Dirty cushions on the bed. Food marks on the wall very dusty room look like it had not been hoovered

There was a group of us travelling up to Manchester to relive our youth and head to NQ64 in Manchester and the Arcade Club a few minutes walk away from the hotel in Bury.
The location was ideal, as it was a short journey to get there. The hotel experience was brilliant, from the self check-in to the option to upgrade your room as a "offer what you want to pay".
The rooms were spacious and the club rooms also provided water and a coffee machine.

The only small negative I had, which won't apply to 99% of the guests in the hotel, was that I wanted to plug my laptop in to the TV via HDMI.
The supplied remote didn't offer an option for "switching sources", but thankfully my phone had an IR blaster and tv remote software, which still allowed me to do so.

It's a tiny blemish on an otherwise perfect stay, and would definitely not stop me from coming back in the future.

Stayed as a guest for a wedding, which the hotel hosted and that was great. A bit disappointed I had to pay extra for the spa facilities ( only a £5 though). Entry to the hotel was up 20 steps which when carrying bags is not ideal and the lift was around the back and not very friendly.
Staff were great and helpful.
Rooms were large and comfortable, but ask for an extra pillow.

The room itself was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The walls are extremely thin, including hearing someone burp and talk in the next room. We were also woken by the music from the gym class.

Overall though, good. The staff both reception and cleaning staff were lovely.

Once again, The village hotel delivered. Great overnight stay on the bank holiday weekend. Lovely meal in the evening and fantastic breakfast. Room great, no issues whatsoever. Nice vibe about the place, very chilled, great for the footy too, big screens everywhere.

Very convenient for M66 but rooms in the front are noisy if you open the window! However there is air con and fans if you keep the windows closed. The beds are very comfy and the shower excellant. All staff were pleasant. We ate a late lunch in the bar area, no separate dining room but could not eat there in the evening due to the volume of the music. There was a friendly pub restaurant across the road that we used. Plenty of free car parking. Decor was dark in the bedrooms and corridors.

Great facilities and location, however some parts got let down. Also in some parts by certain members of staff. The wedding was amazing and the staff was very helpful with everything we needed and put on a good day for us all.

We loved the idea of all of the different elements of the club in one place but unfortunately the slightly ‘worn’ and broken presentation of the room and the extremely rowdy guests on the bedroom landings to till the small hours made it a less than relaxing stay. Our fiends seemed to have updated rooms which were in better condition than ours.

This hotel is fine for a nights stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a good shower. We had a quick bite to eat in the restaurant and whilst the service was very good from friendly staff, the food was poor. Chicken on my club sandwich was dry and tough. Very busy and lively feel and in general all ok

The room was spacious but the bed very low down and struggled with a bad back. But was a comfy bed! The bathroom stunk of vinegar/silicone. Breakfast was good just had to ask if veggie options were available and they had to check for me!

Everything from the check in experience, to the food and overall atmosphere has been great! We will certainly use this hotel for all future business trips to Bury and rate it not only for the good value vs. the facilities / amenities available, but also for the friendliness of the staff and hassle free service:) Thank you for a very pleasant stay and see you soon!

Stayed here on a Sunday night and it was quite good.
The rooms have everything you need and the bed was comfortable enough.
The window blind only just covered the window so plenty of light came through, which I dislike as I like to sleep in darkness.
