We stayed at the Village Bury for the first time this weekend, just me and my son (6 years old), as we were having a weekend in Manchester.

On arrival, we were greeted by a really friendly gentleman who gave my son a HUGE platinum jubilee lolly which, needless to say; he was over the moon about. The check-in process was quick and smooth, and we were in our room in less than five minutes.

The room was a great size with all the mod cons (including a Dyson fan) and was clean; there were absolutely no complaints. The bed was really comfortable, and we both got a decent night's sleep.

Whilst at the hotel, we used the pool facilities, which were great, modern and clean changing rooms and a good-sized pool and the gym facilities looked brilliant.

My only issue of the whole trip was how lacklustre the gym staff were. We booked the day pass, and the guy on the desk seemed confused that we weren't members and didn't seem to understand that I had paid for access to the facilities. When I went to the locker room and asked another guest/member how to lock them, he said I should have been given a wristband at reception (i wasn't), so I had to go to the desk again. Again the staff member couldn't seem to grasp I was a hotel guest and not a member, and it felt like a bit of a negotiation to get one of the wrist bands for a locker for mine and my son's clothes; I will add that the locker access was given somewhat grudgingly with a "make sure you brought that back" when they gave me the wrist band. This is where they lose a star from me, unfortunately.

The restaurant facilities were excellent with a good selection of food; we had the buffet breakfast, which easily beat some of its competitors on variety.

Overall a really good stay and we would visit again.

I was there as a photographer for an event so I didn't spend the night or book a room. The hall was spacious and the event went spectacular but there was no air conditioning and the hotel staff had only one person serving drinks so people kept complaining about how hot it was and how long it took to buy a drink.
Sorry to put a negative review but that's the feedback I got from people who attended the event. I hope the hotel reads this review and gets the air conditioning fixed. More bar staff means you sell more drinks and make more money

Nice stay but like most UK hotels you only get the basic. Breakfast was nice and staff were friendly.

I have been working with the hotel for many years doing various events there and I have to say a special mention goes to Jess in the sales team. We speak oftern regarding different ventures at the hotel and I can not speak highly enough about her. She always makes time to answer any questions I have, quite oftern goes above and beyond to help me with anything I need and never ever settles for second best. I hope that she is there for many years to come as she makes events witin the venue run effortlessly.

Good stayed many times before , great location , great facilities there apparently was a problem with a water pipe and as a consequence there was no water for about an hour , no one bothered to contact us and so my other half had to go to reception to find out what was going on. i have raynauds syndrome and so need access to water , preferably warm at all times , septic I have an episode , so it did panic me and it annoyed me that no one bothered to explain what was going on

We had an okay stay here. The service was good but the place was a little tired and our bathroom wasn’t clean. The beds were comfy but the blinds were flimsy and didn’t cover the edges of the window. Breakfast was okay but not a lot of choice. For the price we paid it was okay but if I think I’d I had paid any more I would have been more disappointed.

Envision Images recently had the huge pleasure of shooting a wedding for one of our client at the Village. It was a breath of fresh air working with the wedding coordinator Jessica Greenbank who could not have been more helpful. Throughout the whole day our team had all our requirements accommodated for allowing us to do our job to the best of our abilities. A huge thank you to Jessica and the team and we can't wait to come and work with you again.

We arrived at the hotel just before 4pm. Reception was full with wedding guests as they were awaiting a wedding, this caused a very awkward check in with wedding guests all around us. Wedding disco music then kept us awake till 1am, I understand they are celebrating but a warning from the hotel prior to our arrival would have been nice.
The room was big and spacious - however attention to detail needs some work with some damage to the walls and stickers peeling off the desk . The bathroom again was nice and big, shower was great but this came with mould all around the silicone.
We were woken on the first morning by a cockerel in a van parked in the car park. Assuming this was a guest but after not getting any sleep till 1am this was not what we wanted to be woken up to as soon as the sun came up.
The noise from downstairs is so loud and not relaxing. With it having a pub attached the noise travels and customers clearly do not respect the paying guests in the actual hotel.

The reception team was welcoming and friendly and the bar staff too.
Food was good.

Modern well appointed hotel. Great health club facilities and a rare find of a healthy menu in the restaurant / bar. Almost felt like a gym with a hotel rather than the other way around! Won't hesitate to return when in the area
