I took a last minute booking here as I had to stay in the area on business unexpectedly.

I didn't have the best view in the world (bricks and mortar!), but the room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The bed was great for my bad back and very large.

I didn't use them as it was an unexpected booking, but I did check out the leisure facilities which looked great (especially the 25m pool).

The food I had was very average and at business hotel prices (there is a pub carvery across the road but that looked quite underwhelming too).

A very business orientated hotel, but gave me a great night's sleep with free Wifi and just what was required on this occasion.

This is the second village urban I have visited, and I love them, you feel like you are in a private complex, welcome is fantastic, I asked if I could have a room nearer the front and the young lady tried for ages to accommodate and yes she succeeded, room was great. I very rarely eat at hotel restaurants due to cost but I love the bar and bar food and it was so reasonable. As in all their hotels they have a snack cafe which is really good. The staff and cleaners are all so friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is very good and plenty of it, I enjoyed it so much I am now looking into all village urban hotels for my august short break. What I really love about them is they are so easy to find, the last two (warrington and bury) are just off motorways in there own little village and close to shopping centres, they also have fantastic entertainment on certain dates. Just love everything about them, oh yeh it's free parking and plenty of spaces too and free wi fi through out

A perfect hotel is you want a gym and or pool for your stay, as it has a proper 25m length pool and full gym. The bar was friendly with simple, but good food. My room was excellent … but a long way from reception. It was difficult to find initially, but the benefit was it was quiet at the back of the hotel.

Stayed here whilst in area and had a great time. Room large with good television and hot drinks available - en suite large and refined with good quality toiletries. Opening windows essential as warm weather and no air-con, but gave good ventilation and little noise. Breakfast very good standard, the only disappointment being a lack of breads choice - just sliced for the toaster.

Do check out your room beforehand as some have view of brick wall, although did make it quiet. V comfy bed but dinner disappointed from what sounded a promising menu. Branding is about the V so gets a bit wearing, but OK for an overnight business trip.

Stayed here as it was er-route on a long journey so being just off the motorway it was handy. Reception was nice and new refurb part looked lovely. We were told that we were in the 'quiet' part. What the receptionist meant was we were in the old part. Room was ok, big etc. The bathroom could have been cleaner. Blue toilet cleaner stains on the floor and dusty. It wasn't horrible, just wasn't as clean as I'd like. Free paring and breakfast came with the room for £53 on a Friday night- so can't complain really!

My wife & I had a very pleasant stay at the Village Resort in Bury. A modern Hotel in a very good location, just 5 minutes from Bury town centre & the famous Bury Market. Our stay included breakfast, which I was looking forward too after a couple of drinks in the Hotel bar & the pub just down the road. I would recommend the Village Resort as it has plenty to offer for everyone.

The Village Hotel in Bury has re launched the Verve Grill - its menu is a surprising mixture to suit everybody's taste - I ordered Thai spring rolls expecting 4 small rolls and your standard dipping sauce but oh ! what a surprise 2 hand made chunky spring rolls with Asian salad and a dipping sauce that you would have thought you were in Thailand wo! what joy - succulent spiced chicken in a crunchy pastry a real treat. My wife ordered the fillet steak for her main with pepper sauce - a British classic and it was ! For my main I ordered the Pollock on a fishcake bed with minted peas and a side of sautéed greens - wonderful. The sweets looked very delicious a friend of ours who was in the restaurant was eating Eton Mess when we arrived - it looked and she said it was tremendous. We finished with coffee and I must compliment the waiter service so friendly and attentive. The Verve Grill is back and it will be a pleasure to all who partake - well done the Village.

We had a living social deal for a Sunday lunch for two . The lunch was for five courses with a 30% off a bottle of wine. What a lovely dining experience !! Excellent waitress service with a lovely five course meal which was fresh home cooked food which mostly tasted delicious. The soup was tasty, there were multiple fresh salads and prawn cocktails, pasta and sauces cooked to order by the chief, a three meat carvers with Yorkshire pudding and tasty hot assorted vegetables, then after all that a beautiful chocolate mousse, fabulous cheesecake, fresh fruit salads.........our only disappointments were the not to to standard Yorkshire pudding.....and the beef was overcooked and tough. Apart from that, the service, the food, the surroundings, all great value for money even at full price. We shall be back.

I'm glad we went before I read the TA reviews as I might have thought twice ! Clearly some TA comments are only about other aspects of the business that may need more management attention but unfortunately those TA comments may sway restaurant custom away tho- so we'd like to give a positive airing of our experience for the Sunday Carvery Lunch service.
Our experience was very good for a 1.30 pm booking on 20th July..Asking reception to be directed to the carvery was met with prompt politeness & direction. The entry & paying desk for the restaurant was well covered by a very professional young lady who was doing greeting & take to tables & drinks orders. All staff at the food stations + those who served drinks , removed plates etc were all very polite & friendly & good at their jobs.
The food variety range & choice & quality for all courses was absolutely excellent.
We all enjoyed the experience & would come again.

The room was large and nicely appointed; plenty of outlets for my devices, free WiFi and so forth. The bed was comfortable, too. We ate in the pub inside the hotel and it was very good, and the service was excellent! I would definitely stay here again.

Had a back massage with Claire, who was wonderful and knowledgeable.
Also helped my partner's congestion and eczema.

Enjoyable stay. Nice atmosphere in hotel. Good breakfast all that you need and want. Lovely looking pool, never used it, but staff friendly. As we were staying for 3 nights we booked upper deck room which was good, although very warm, but a fan was already provided. We would stay again.

Great value for money clean hotel for a pit stop along a long journey, standard robotic hotel staff but lovely warm bath and extremely comfortable bed.

Hotel restaurant was not open due to it being a Sunday night so we settled for their pub within the hotel. Duck wrap was great but the chicken was very dry, and there's no freeveiw in the room, other than that all round great and comfortable nights stay.

I stay here on a regular basis for work. On the whole it is not too bad for the price that I pay, the staff are really helpful and friendly. The whole place is just in need of doing up. I have stayed in a few different rooms they are pretty grubby with cobwebs or mildew in the shower and you can see where things have been removed off the walls and not painted over or filled in, in one room I had a cracked sink as well. Some of the rooms look over the front which can be noisy. If you like a bit of piece and quiet get an annex room they are brighter as well. On the up side there is free Wi-Fi and the beds are comfy.

Restaurant is okay nothing special and over priced but there is not much else nearby any better.
