Stayed here for a relative's wedding. The room was comfortable with good facilities, pleasantly decorated. The bed was comfy, the room had a large settee which was a bonus, the TV was OK but very hard to find a particular channel as the guide was useless. There was an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and coffee/tea making facilities. Lighting was good, wardrobe a decent size, view over the countryside was welcome. The bathroom was fine, shower over bath worked well, facilities in bathroom were quite good, but there was no working extractor fan, even though there appeared to be a vent. Heated towel rail worked OK. No air-conditioning in the room, which we were surprised about, but the windows opened to let fresh air in at least. Breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. We are vegetarians and had no problems. Service was good even though the hotel was very full at the time. We ate at the hotel the first evening and the food was very good. The food for the "wedding breakfast" we enjoyed very much. They even made a special 'one-off' meal (mushroom risotto) for my wife who is gluten intolerant, and provided gluten free bread too. They took a lot of trouble to accommodate special diets. Other guests who were in our group didn't think their room was as nice as ours, and the hotel were happy to move them into another room. All things considered we enjoyed our stay very much, and would stay here again in the future if in the area.

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. The hotel room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was also very nice and included a cooked breakfast plus fruit, pastries, yoghurt, cereals etc. Although I didn't use it, I understand that this hotel also has a pool and gym.

We came here for the Take That tribute night and stayed over. The act was brilliant, the three course meal was served piping hot with very prompt service. The room was very spacious and modern. We didn't use the pool and facilities but you could see the pool on the way to the function room which looked really nice (gutted we didn't take our swimwear). We'll definitely be making a return visit in the future.

This was a hotel that my brother was using, which was in close proximity to the venue for his wedding. I was only staying for the one night and had a slightly different deal to the one everyone else had.
Check-in was very friendly and efficient, as it was quick, it enabled my wife and I to have time to order dinner, which was most welcome.
Our room overlooked the back of the hotel, it was quiet and the room was of a high standard, very stylish and comfortable and had a good sized bed which was very comfortable.
Food was of a very good standard, with a good selection on their fixed price menu and was reasonably priced for 3 courses.
I had time to check out the leisure facilities the next morning, these were very impressive, easily the best of any hotel I have stayed in. Clearly, the leisure part of this hotel is a thriving business in its own right.
I would recommend this hotel if you are in the region of Bury

We always always come here when we visit family and have previously always loved it. This time I'm afraid standards seem to have fallen - our double bed was two singles badly pushed together & as a result I spent most the night falling down the middle of our bed , I can only assume that either the customers in the room next door were smoking out if their window or someone was smoking under our window as we could smell cigarette smoke at one point ( which isn't nice when you're with New born baby) & the bread my husband had with his breakfast was stale so he never ate it. We would have advised them of this if anyone had bothered to ask if we enjoyed our breakfast or visit when we checked out but no one did. I should finish by saying we have never ever had any issues before & it was still okay I just felt it missed the mark this time, I'll probably try somewhere else in future

Me and my Mum visited the hotel today for a spa day. When we arrived we went to the pool first - with being a Sunday Morning there were a lot of children in the pool until 11am it then started to get quieter. The jazzuci, steam room & sauna were great & all very clean. There are only a few loungers at the poolside though so if there was a group of you in a busy time you would struggle to sit together at the same time. The afternoon tea was a sandwich of your choice from the pub menu, slice of cake, scone and a hot drink which were all very nice. We then went to the spa salon for our treatments. When we got to the relaxation area there was a lady awaiting the manager arriving as she had a complaint. He spoke to her regarding the complaint in the relaxation area which must have been as embarrassing for her as it was for us. It was supposed to be a relaxation area! We didn't mind too much though. I had a facial and my mum had a pedicure and we loved our treatments. The beauty therapists were friendly and did a great job. All in all a good day.

I have not stayed at the Village for some time and was little disappointed as I remember that the Chain was up market. My tv only had a couple of channels and was fuzzy on the picture, the room was tidy but very dated and I had a generator next door where the cleaners kept their towels going off through the evening and night. The staff were friendly and helpful, food was limited in the bar as some of the menu had run out, again disappointing.

I would put the village on par with a travel lodge, which I'm sure they would not like, but true.

We have been twice recently and the first time were allocated a room that was too dark and with little natural lighting. This proved not to be a suitable room for me due to limited vision. However, when we returned a few weeks later I emailed the day before and explained the problems I had and we were allocated a lovely room at the back of the hotel which was very light and airy. We dined in the hotel on both nights and were surprised that not many other people seem to use the restaurant, as it is good value and the food and service is very good. The drinks are perhaps a little bit pricey. The pool and leisure facilities are superb and some of the best I have had in hotels of this size. The changing rooms are always tidy and clean and never have the musty smell you can experience in changing rooms. The hotel bedroom and ensuite facilities are very well equipped and we have always had a good nights sleep here. The staff are very friendly and seem to genuinely like working there. We will definitely stay at this hotel in the future as we regularly need to stay when visiting family but it isn't our first choice simply because it is a longer commute and not always within budget.

I was best man at my Brother's Wedding which was held at the Village Urban Resort Hotel. I stayed there along with my wife for two days. When it's a Wedding you need everything to be perfect on the day. My brother did not need to worry as Manageress Jodie and her team made sure everything would be perfect on the day,. Even when I realised I had left my speech in the Bedroom, Jodie dispatched someone to go and get it for me. The bedroom we had was good and very large, the only thing missing was an in room mini bar as it would have been nice to have a drink of cold water during the night. The Menu we had at the Wedding Breakfast was very good with something for everyone's taste and advanced menu choice made sure you got what you liked and at this Reception there were definitely no complaints as everyone was served with what they had requested and the food was well cooked and presented. Everyone at the Hotel put in lots of hard work to make it a successful day. It is done behind the scenes by Jodi and her team which we would like to say a big thank you. Also guests have full use of the Hotel's fantastic health club and pool.

We had a very comfortable quiet night here with a good hearty breakfast in the morning followed by a relaxing swim and sauna/ jaccusi , it was clean and staff were very helpful . Will go back our only disappointment was that we couldn't get a hot chocolate during at night due to the hot drink machine not working .

Used this hotel purely for bed and breakfast. The room was very clean and fit for purpose. the staff were very pleasant and helpful. the breakfast was buffet style with a wide and varied selection. There was also an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and fitness gym.

The bed room had Gray painted walls, and the lighting in the room had a black lamp shade on it.
The sink taps were loose and there was some black mold around the sink.

The main stairs were so badly illuminated that the it was dangerous. The restrunraunt was also very badly lit and the food selection on the fixed price three course menu was unimaginative and lacked resonable choice.

The level of sound from doors slamming shut and the noise from the bar area in the bedroom was very high.

Very similar to other Village hotels I've used but it seemed very dark in the reception area
We up graded to upper deck room but
-No Starbucks coffee in room now, but they give a voucher to get free drink from Starbucks
- room was very dark even with all lights on
- food in bar ok
- cold plates for hot breakfast
- breakfast choice ok, bacon is under cooked , it seemed to be cooked while folded in half so it meant fat wasn't browned

Stayed a Friday night at the Village Urban Resort and we were very happy with our choice of hotel.

The location is excellent - almost adjacent to the motorway, the car park is huge and free and the hotel itself offered everything we wanted for our stay.

A few days prior to our visit we received a courtesy call from the hotel enquiring if we needed any additional information or to book a restaurant table which we thought was a nice touch. On arrival the lady on reception was very welcoming and friendly and explained everything available in the hotel. Our room was a good size and was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The bed itself was extremely comfortable and a nice addition was blinds in addition to curtains which kept the room nicely dark and enabled us to have a pleasant lie-in.

The buffet breakfast offered everything we could have wanted and the items available were all good quality and freshly prepared. Sadly due to the lie-in, we didn't have the time to use the leisure facilities - hopefully next time.

I stayed here for one night on business. It is well sited for Manchester as well as the towns north of the city being right next to the M66 connections for anywhere in the NorthWest. The room was a good size and the bed comfortable unfortunately I did not have time to take advantage of their leisure facilities but I am told they are good.

Perfectly acceptable if you are a business person expecting a conference hotel. I didn't use the Spa or gym but have stayed here twice for a meeting on the premises. it wouldn't be my choice if that wasn't the case. The rooms are practical , standard and basic with toiletries that are on the walls to save costs. Tea making facilities in the room are fine. The breakfasts are standard but lack variety and freshness in the cooked range. Not enough fresh fruit variety for me! The duvets will be lovely in the winter but much too hot now that it is spring! Average evening meal. Bar not single professional female friendly, very male/football orientated. I found the wifi erratic!
