Not a pleasant stay Starbucks on site was great & the grill was far better food than we had expected - the staff at the grill eatery/pub were fantastic too, very professional but with warm greetings & humour making for a very refreshing change to our experience at the hotel to that point. The bed was very comfortable - the room & decor was not. Parking - despite staying for 3 days charged £15 to park when checking in & yet when checking out & instructed to check my car parking was all paid it stated I still owed another £10!! So £25 for 3 days parking whilst staying & eating at the hotel - disgusted 😡 The checking in wasn't a warm friendly process either - if we had not already paid in advance we would have walked away. Presumably the lady on reception was new/ training? However, there was no welcome at all & we were made to feel as though we were an 'inconvenience' rather than paying guests. The steps up when asked if this was the only way in with our luggage-; after pointing out a number of times I was deaf & mobility impaired & we had large cases to bring in still, resulted in a sort of hand wave & about a lift in 'that direction ' but no actual useful information'. We later discovered people had been stood in front of the 2 green signs indicating disabled entrance on the wall in front of the blue badge parking. Our room was just about as far away from the lift as it could be - which after the hike up those front steps was not appreciated. It seemed we were right above live music for the 1st night too - which whilst we were still jet lagged was again really not appreciated. I might be deaf but my husband is not & deaf people are sensitive to sound vibrations ... there was plenty of sound & vibrations in our room. The fan in the bathroom did not work so whilst the shower was excellent the room soon became like a steam sauna with no working extractor. The lighting in the room was a big problem. The room continually felt dark, there was no central light just the floor lamp in the corner, the light in the bit of corridor by the bathroom & the 2 angle lamps by the bedside - these however did not reach easily or well to illuminate properly to read in bed, although they looked great.

Overall a decent setup. They have a lot of facilities on site like a Starbucks, dining, drinking, fitness and swimming.

The rooms are somewhat dated by today’s hotel standards in my opinion. Having no way to decline housekeeping during my stay was unnerving especially after this is pretty bog standard today (more so after the pandemic). Checking in was a nightmare because we needed assistance to check in early (which there is a £15/$18 charge for btw and not clearly stated in any communication). The clerk’s system kept failing or she didn’t know which double rooms offered a tub or couldn’t clearly see which one was available/cleaned by house keeping. Eventually the front desk clerk pulled colleagues in to figure it out and get us checked in an hour after we showed up and 30mins before the 3pm check in time. Seems the hotel has prioritized self serve checkin at the expense of controls/empowering their staff to do what they need.

Lastly location. Not an ideal place to stay if you need to get to Manchester. This really only works if you Uber or are driving.

Good hotel, convenient with local amenities. Thin walls so can hear a lot of other residents filtering in and out or on the hallways. 11am checkout is reasonable. Good facilities in the room, comfortable bed.

We have stayed here 4/5 times before this stay. Disappointed due to the double double room
We booked and paid for was not available. Given a family room instead which had a sofa bed. Thought ok: when we saw the sofa bed it was very very small. Not big enough for 2 . Told would get a part refund but nothing yet.

Very good Contemporary rooms, clean, the ability to book as a walk in would be an advantage, rather than online bookings only. No complaints at all .

Pleasant Always a great stay here but this time left us a little disappointed. Reported an issue with the bathroom basin to the receptionist immediately but alas didn't get rectified.

Attended a function to discover there was a free bar, so visited reception to see if any rooms were available at a reasonable rate. Tracie sorted us out and couldn't do enough for us, the night staff were equally helpful in assisting us find our room in a state of merriness early the following morning.
Bar staff were great, room was tidy, a brilliant time.
