This is a great place to stay during the week if you are visiting North Manchester.
The rooms are clean and well equipped and the staff friendly and helpful.
The promotional material suggest it is a very different place at weekends!

The old style reception area was more inviting and personal, although the staff were helpful and friendly you felt with the old style that you were being welcomed with the layout
The old style bedrooms were cozy and relaxing, now they are very premier inn style which lack
clothing space and feel cheap

I had a lovely evening at the 90's tribute night, but evening was slightly tainted by mouldy cheesecake. Rooms and facilities great. I cannot complain about the rest of my stay or food just wish this could have been avoided.

We all had an amazing night 90’s night. Other people attending was brilliant. The day staff and spa staff perfect. We will be back for the next night. The drinks could be expensive but probably expected price for people that go out regularly.

Good location for access toBury and motorways. Extremely friendly and helpful reception, bar and restaurant staff. Just let down but general shabbiness and cleanliness of the rooms. Which was a shame as this could be easily rectified

Was a pleasant stay, the staff were so lovely. Room was nice although the bed wasn't overly comfy. Food was lovely in the grill restaurant but was frustrating waiting an hour for our food. My husband had to send his back once but the waitress couldn't have been nicer about it if she tried. She gave us our pudding as an apology which was nice. When his food came back the second time it was spot on. Staff were so lovely. Didn't have time to try out the swimming pool but it looked great.

We visited the hotel for a carvery for the first time and felt it was quite nice overall. We were given 50% off our bill as there was less choice than usual which was appreciated. There’s lots of choice for starters/sides, the carvery food and desserts. If you have kids, they eat free so it’s worth it.

Very good value for the money. We loved the pub at the hotel, nice, clean, cozy and a good atmosphere. We had free access to the swimmingpool and jacuzzi. The only bad thing was that the rooms were not very soundproof and our neighbors were very noisy.

What a fabulous hotel...I have stayed at 5 village hotels in the past and I have to say this is the best yet.The leisure facilities are superb.from the well equipped gym,to the pool and sauna"s.The reception staff were polite and helpful along with all the bar staff....Will definitely be returning thanks....the only negative point was the reading lamp was hanging of the wall, from when we arrived to when we left..we did inform reception numerous occasions room 231 1st April to 3rd April...

Booked a spa day for my sister and we decided to stay over. Upgraded to a club room as I was going to use the spa anyway and this was included. Also paid for evening meal and breakfast. Bed was huge room was ok sized. Shower looked amazing but was just ok to be honest. Used the gym and it was fab staff were lovely and everything was to hand. Evening meal was amazing and such good value for the money as was the breakfast. The sleep however was non existent. The bed was great it was the noise due to the location of our room. Everytime a door closed our room rattled and the radiator sounded like a tea trolley all night. Free breakfast and late check out next time I book isn't enough for a whole night of no sleep despite the rest being wonderful.

Every aspect of our stay was great. The service from every single member of staff was impeccable from reception and housekeeping to restaurant. Breakfast was lovely. We ate in the Grill restaurant twice and the food in there was delicious. The pool and other facilities were great and the more than adequate changing rooms were always clean. We already have 2 further visits planned with family.

Lovely hotel. £20 taxi to central Manchester & good transport links. Overpriced restaurant, but good pub food. Two singles pushed together as a double let it down however. Lovely comfy beds if you don't mind avoiding the gap!

We recently stayed here for one night for my girlfriend's birthday. The automatic check in at reception seemed to work and we set off for our room.....this turned into a marathon trek involving two lifts. When we finally found the room, we were greeted with an overwhelming pong of marijuana in the corridor. So, humming a bit of Cypress Hill, I attempted to get into the room.....and the key card didn't work. Top stuff. So it was off for for another 10 minute march and more lifts back to reception where it was fixed and entry to the room was secured. Huzzah!

The room was actually really very nice, clean, modern and bright. The two single mattresses pushed together to make one double bed was a rather novel touch though.....but with full Sky package and massive television, the room was very pleasant.

So we wended our merry way down to the bar. Hmmmm. Drinks were reasonably priced but the actual bar had no seats left so we went and sat in the foyer area. I say foyer area, it felt like a children's play area with uncontrolled kids flailing about the place, screeching and almost knocking a member of staff over as she collected glasses. Not used to being sat with tracksuit wearing types, we went to the restaurant for something to eat.

We were seated rather swiftly across from a party of about twenty people that were amusing themselves by taking photographs of everything they could see. Modern technology and all that....and a few more tracksuits. But I digress. Having had our drinks order taken, we noticed that 20 minutes had passed with no sign of said beverages turning up. Having grabbed someone's attention, we were told that our drinks order had been lost. The staff were quite apologetic and soon I was quaffing a rather nice merlot. A minor victory I know. Food was ordered and was really very nice....both courses arriving quickly.

It seemed at this point we ceased to exist. Tables around us were cleared but we were largely ignored. Not having been offered the dessert menu, we instead ordered two cocktails. Alcoholic oblivion seemed to be the best way of coping at this point. The cocktails, while very nice, turned up about 15 minutes after being ordered and again we had to chase this up. We had been in the restaurant for over two hours at this point. Anxious to avoid another two hours, we paid the bill and wombled back to the bar.

Beer was purchased but with no seats available, it was back to the play area in the foyer. Less kids this time but still screeching, flailing and tracksuits were observed. It was time to retire to our room and we prepared ourselves for the mammoth trek back. There was quite a bizarre incident involving what appeared to be some local hellion children that had been up to no good outside being given a stern dressing down by a member of staff. I had no desire to know what was going on if I'm honest.

Unfortunately we were defeated by technology arriving back at the room and the key card didn't work again. After some creative swearing, we hiked back down to reception, had the card fixed and then back up again. No explanation for the card being broken was provided. The aroma of weed was still present and I can only imagine that the Cheech and Chong fans were pretty baked at this point.

While I slept soundly, it was occasionally interrupted by what appeared to be a door slamming competition taking place in the corridor. Whilst tempted to join in this rather fun sounding pursuit, I chose to try and sleep instead. Call me unadventurous.

After a hearty and passable breakfast, we left. Overall, the quality of the food and drink was excellent but the endurance march back and forth to the room, the key card episodes, the poor restaurant service and the colourful ensemble of tracksuits on show soured things a little.

Wouldn’t recommend this for large group gatherings. Food was below average. Room for the disco was to small dance floor was to small. You wasn’t made to feel special. I was embarrassed at the food they served.

We arrived to a really friendly welcome and an upgrade to a Club Room (quiet side of the hotel, coffee machine and Sky telly). The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with everything we needed - iron & board etc. Super-king bed and comfortable duvet made for a couple of great night’s sleep. Walk in monsoon shower, spotlessly clean bathroom and fast free Wi-fi all added to what was a comfortable, great value stay. We will definitely use Village Hotel again.

We had stayed here for 2 nights, Friday-Sunday. I got a deal from Buy a Gift that included breakfast both mornings and dinner the first night. I had a bit of hassle when I rang (not the actual hotels fault) and got us upgraded to a club room. When we arrived we had no trouble checking in, and when we came down later in the evening to check our dinner reservation we got to book it for the next day instead which worked perfectly for us! Ashley on reception even got us a complimentary drink for my partners birthday so thank you! The dinner was fab, as was the breakfast (perfect for a hangover 😂). Our room was lovely, coffee machine and Sky Tv, all working. The bed was brilliant too.
We went for a massage and Beth made me feel very comfortable and definitely sorted my back out!
We also went for a swim and sauna and steam.
Now the only problem we had, the man on reception down by the pool didn’t explain a single thing to us, we had no idea where the changing rooms are or even how to make our wrist bands work the lockers. We also weren’t told there was a door that led straight into the pool, so we ended up walking past loads of people in the gym in our swimwear which was quite embarrassing!
However, I cannot fault anything else apart from him.
I recommend trying the Spinach and Sweet Potato curry too!
Also be advised, it is quite far away from Manchester itself. So if you don’t want to pay for a taxi, you’ll be best staying in the City Centre.
But all in all, a lovely time, and we would come again for a relaxing break.
