disappointed with the service when we arrived at the restaurant the bar was full of dirty glasses that never got cleared the large scruffy looking guy who passed as the head waiter seemed put out when we didn't order from the Sunday menu and asked for the alacarte menu when he seated us it was side by side when we asked to be seated across from each other he seemed more put out .he then took the wine glasses off the table .I had a word with the bar man who took over our service he was very good but the moment had been lost by now we gave up on the wine and left the meal was just ok unlike the first time we went there when the meal and service was very good. wont go again

A large group of us were at the Red Hall from all over the UK for a surprise family celebration. We had many requests including early arrivals, a change of room, and a disabled couple with very specific needs and the hotel met every request with a can do attitude. The rooms were spotless, with up to date contemporary decor and lovely bathrooms. Dinner, lunch and breakfast were all fab' too. This is absolutely the hotel we will be staying at on future visits to Manchester/Bury. Oh, and its extremely good value for money too!

I stayed at the Red hall recently for a wedding , the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly , breakfast in the morning was superb. a few negatives that I found with the hotel was in the room itself mine and my partners room was not very clean there was someone else's hair in the bathroom and bath. Now another point that was rather annoying was the fact that the walls seemed paper thin on the first night we was next door to another couple who were lets just say playing gymnastics ...a few hours later after much noise and screaming a member of staff came and knocked on next door because a few people on the corridor had complained about the noise. Apart from that I would probably stay at the hotel again.

Went here on New Years Day for a meal. Nice restaurant. Although my starter was what I had chosen, it was not to my liking and to my surprise the staff were more than willing to change it for me and actually ending up giving me something that wasn't on the menu.

We stayed here for my partners 40th birthday party which was held here. We stayed in The Princess Suite & what a room it is with an amazing bathroom & outdoor area. A great breakfast in the morning & friendly staff add to what made this a hotel to be recommended.

We attended my son-in-laws birthday party here this weekend, from arriving the staff where lovely, the rooms where of a good size and nicely presented very clean and everything you needed, the food both at the party and at breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and if you are a smoker they provided more smoking areas than any hotel I have been to, so I would like to say a very big THANK YOU to the management and staff for giving us a perfect weekend.

Stayed in Room 1 the other night.
Furniture is a little battered & the chair had some interesting stains on it but bed was very comfy
Found the TV was only receiving 3 channels when I came back from dinner & found that the sink plug mechanism was fauly the following morning.
Breakfast was Ok but the full english had been on the hot plate for a little while by the time that it was delivered to me (beans were a bit congealed)
I informed the reception staff of the problems in the room when I booked out but little interest shown apart from you should have informed us so that we can put it right (Hadn't fancied telling them about the TV at gone 11pm or the sink at 6.30am). No reduction to the bill offered
All in all not a bad place but wouldnt go out of the way to stop here

To all at the Red Hall I wanted to say a big thank you for a magical wedding day.
Also thank you to Sue and the Legends staff for a brilliant meal the night before... Food was excellent, especially the beautifully presented deserts!
Darren could not have been more supportive not only making sure the day went smoothly but also giving emotional support to me and my teary bridesmaids.
The room looked beautiful for the ceremony, the meal and the night time. Food was gorgeous and many of our guests commented on the quality.
All staff were friendly, professional, welcoming and to be honest saints for putting up with us until well into the early hours.
I could not have chosen a more perfect venue for our special day and myself and Billy thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Xxx

On arrival, large car park with designated disabled parking spaces. Hotel modern low-rise, looked very neat and welcoming.
Inside, the reception and publice areas al pristine, lots of wood and nice lighting, good reception area for welcoming wedding guests.
Bar area very nice, service excellent and staff pleasant and polite. Prices not extortionate.
The civil wedding was conducted in the 'Holcombe' suite which was beautifully set out and very spacious, also nice and warm on a very cold day. The ceremony was very nice, followed by bucks fizz and cordial for the children. Photo's followed, outside on a raised area at the side of the car park. Whilst this was happening people checked in to the hotel, again reception staff very pleasant, whilst the Holcombe suite was re-arranged for the meal.
The tables and chairs looked beautiful, the waiting staff were 'on the ball' with drinks, but were pleasantly in the background. The meal could not be faulted. I had a delicious prawn cocktail, my husband had soup, mains were chicken wrapped in bacon with delicious vegetables, and poached salmon with vegetables, then we both had cheesecake, all of which were delicious. The service was faultless.
Again after the meal we moved out of the room and people had drinks or went to their rooms prior to the evening celebration.
We had room 9, which was near to the the reception, up about 5 steps, then down a corridor. It was very spacious, comfortable twin beds, with comfy pillows, very nice and clean, lovely bathroom, tea and coffee-making facilities provided as well. High quality towels and some toiletries provided. Only comments would be that the decor was a little tired, and a small patch of damp in one corner needed dealing with. Breakfast was pleasant, many choices, help-yourself to pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, juice, and order one of the hot breakfasts. We both had the full-english which was very good. Sausage and bacon of good quality, and black pudding, plus all the usual beans, egg, tomatoes etc.

Spent a lovely day and evening celebrating a wedding and we were blown away by the sheer professionalism of all, yes all, the staff under the direction of attentive management. The main room and bars were welcoming and beautifully decorated, the food and drink service without fault with nice touches like each course for a table arriving at exactly the same time for all the guests at that table. Younger children were served first with their own menu. The quality of the food and wines was very high. We didn't stay over but I'm sure breakfast would have been brilliant! A real plus for those driving is that iced tap water was readily available for free, and that a cafetiere of coffee, with mints, less than £2.50. Overall the atmosphere was great and you could see the guests were enjoying a very happy occasion. Well done the Red Hall Hotel.

We stayed here as I had been treated with vouchers to eat at The Fishermans Retreat not far away. The hotel was lovely, the staff were pleasant and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a choice of everything you can think of. We are planning on returning again for another night with the view to dining in their restaurant as well. Fantastic night.

Had a fabulous night in Legends Restaurant last Friday where they held an authentic Spanish night. Sangria or Spanish beer on arrival, canapés, beautiful guitar music playing in the background, this was the start of a very good evening! The whole restaurant had been styled in true Spanish style. The Chef produced amazing food accompanied by fine wines to match each course. We took friends who had never been to the hotel before and it blew them away. We are looking forward to the next one, ole!

I have recently got married at the red hall hotel . The day was wonderful and everything went to plan. Unfortunately my dad died 8 weeks before the wedding and I had to leave a lot of the organisation to the staff. They were so supportive and really looked after me and my husband to be. Food great and DJ played everything we wanted- we danced all night.
I would like to thank all the staff- warren wedding organiser , will on reception and the young lady who helped me on the Saturday before the wedding plus the night porter who helped us find missing items during the night .
I can recommend the breakfast plenty of choice and good sized portions . Will definitely return for a meal in the near future

Stayed for one night, myself, hubby, 12 year old daughter. Staff on reception lovely, very helpful. Arrived hour and a half early expecting to have to wait to check in, but ten minutes later the room was ready. Much appreciated after a two hour journey. Room spacious, very modern, spotless, probably the cleanest room we have ever stayed in. Bathroom spacious and modern. Breakfast well worth the money. Good selection of cereal, lots of cold drinks to choose from, fruit, croissants, jams, marmalades, full english, or poached salmon with eggs. We asked for more toast, and it was with us in minutes. Lovely ladies in restaurant and bar. Very friendly. Decor gorgeous. Full English outstanding, piping hot and plenty to fill you! Bar area relaxing, again young lady who served us was very friendly and chatty. Felt very welcome. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. King size bed, very comfortable, camp bed for daughter a little uncomfortable, but plenty room in king size bed for us all! Flat screen tv. Lovely thick, lined curtains. Only tiny faults I would pick, only two tea bags in room, but to be fair, the booklet states that you can request more if you would like them...I didn't as didn't want to put anyone out for a tea bag! Two tiny hairs in the bath, but these may have just come off the cloth when cleaning, as it was sparkling clean, and only hotel bath I have ever used due to this. Doors are lovely, but very heavy, so you do hear them when people come in at night and they bang, although there was no noise from any rooms. Again, you get this in any hotel. Gets very hot in the room at night. We opened the window, but were near the main road so could hear the traffic. Overall, the hotel is very, very good. You can pick fault with anywhere if you think about it! We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for two nights as wedding guests, the hotel staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, Will on the reception was so friendly and welcoming, he was a pleasure to deal with.
The wedding planner, Warren, was so helpful and worked very hard, all day long to make it a perfect day for the happy couple he made everyone feel welcome and was a true professional gentleman.
We had full English breakfasts which were well cooked and well presented, room service was available at a reasonable price.
The wedding breakfast was probably the best I have had, we have attended weddings at some top venues, where the food and standard of service have come nowhere close to that of the Red Hall Hotel.
I cannot fault this Hotel or it's fabulous Staff.
Thank you for our very memorable weekend.

This review is not a review of the full Hotel facilities but just of the Legends Restaurant.

A friend of mine, who lives near Huntingdon, has recenty started a new job. As part of the training she was required to spend sometime at the company HQ in Bury, her firm booked accomodation for her at the hotel. As it is her birthday during this week I arranged to meet up in the restaurant.

Looking at the hotel and restaurant's websites on the internet will give you a good idea of what to expect and you won't be disappointed.

We dined on a Tuesday evening and both selected from the 3 course Table D'Hote menu priced at £21.95 for 3 courses. The quality of the food was excellent, service attentive and not in your face. It was the perfect way to spend an evening.

As I said we both chose from a set menu, a full A La Carte menu was also available, along with a bar menu. The prices on the menus vary and can be expensive but the quality of the food, along with the surroundings will make it more than worhwhile.

from start to finish, the red hall was amazing. All the staff were happy to help in anything we wanted. Most of the time we didn't even need to ask. Everything was done perfect. Darren was fantastic in all the organising. Hospitality, facilities, staff, food and drink was outstanding. We sold over 20 rooms and no one had a bad word to say about anything. We would strongly recommend for any body to have there wedding at this venue.!!!!!!!!

We held our wedding here on 10/08/13 after booking it nearly 2 years earlier. From the very first meeting until our big day, we were always made to feel very welcome. Our wedding coordinators Darren & Warren always listened to our ideas, offered us advice and made us feel totally relaxed leading up to our wedding. The day itself was absolutely perfect from start to finish, several of our guests mentioned to us how friendly, professional and helpful the staff were and how amazing the food was. Many of our guests stayed over and mentioned how nice and comfortable the rooms where and as we stayed in the honeymoon suite we were more than happy with the extra luxury. We are so pleased we chose the Red Hall to host our special day we couldn't find a fault and would recommend the Red Hall to anybody. From myself Ste and my wife Eve, Thank you.

Will start by saying what a great day my husband and I both had it was made special by receiving such a warm approach from Richard who organised from day one to Warren organising everything on wedding day and Darren in the evening, the food was excellently presented delicious and piping hot everyone commented on it, staff so attentive all day long, the d.j. played great music till early hours, the honeymoon suite is luxury in itself, some of our guests stayed in rooms and they couldn't fault them so from myself Carol and my husband Adrian many thanks 'Redhall' for a truly wonderful day on September 8th 2013.

Stayed Here for 1 night to attend a wedding, the room (25) on the second floor.was nice and modern and spotlessly clean, Yes the room was warm but we just opened the window simples. The staff were all very polite and helpfull. The three course meal was excellent and the buffet at night was fantastic, breakfast the following morning was excellent with lots of variety of choices, with regard to the prices at the bar, two and a half pints of lager and a bacardi and coke cost about £12 which I think is reasonable for a hotel of this standard. I would highly reccomend the Red Hall Hotel as a great place to stay, 10 minutes drive from Bury Town center and 2 minutes away from the M66

I stayed at the Red Hall Hotel in Manchester with my boyfriend for two nights. We only went to Manchester to see the Moscow State Circus but decided to make the most of it and stay for a couple of days. We chose Red Hall because it was close to where we needed to be and we got a really good deal of £55 a night. On arrival we were checked into our room and settled in quickly and everyone was very welcoming. However, when laying on the bed we discovered it was sunken in the middle and when we went to flip the mattress we realised the bed frame was completely snapped. We informed reception and the hotel manager dealt with us personally and within 20 minutes we were moved to a bigger room with a bigger and better bed which was lovely. We didn't try out the bar or the restaurant as we spent most of our time out of the hotel but our overall stay was above average and we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Stayed here for 3 nights on a visit to the area where I was tracing family tree information.

We arrived late at 10.45 pm from the airport, which the hotel confirmed wasn't a problem for them. Having parked in the hotel's large, free car park, the check-in was friendly and efficient.

The room was very clean and a reasonable size, but the decoration was dated and the dressing table too big for the room leaving barely 12 inches (30 cm) between it and the bed corner. This meant it was very difficult to get our large suitcases through to that side of the room *there was no space elsewhere) and we often bumped into the sharp corner of the dressing table. As as so frequently happens these days in hotels, the lighting in the room was too dark to read by. A hair dryer was provided in the room attached underneath the dressing table.

The bathroom was excellent, seemingly renovated recently to a very high standard. The towels were actually thick and fluffy bath sheets and the bathroom also had a very welcome towel heater.

the only down side was after two people had each had a shower, the bathroom was like a sauna which extended into the bedroom making for a very humid, unpleasant atmosphere.

The bed was comfortable and free wifi was available.

We ate in the hotel's restaurant were the food was very good and the second night we ate in the bar where the food was also enjoyable. A small error on the first night's dinner bill was quickly fixed with a smile and apology.

The hotel was in a very pretty part of Lancashire surrounded by farmland and the hotel staff have gone to a lot of trouble to provide an attactive property. There was also a lift for which we were very grateful to carry out suitcases up to our room on the first floor.

Check out was also quick and efficient.

I would stay here again.
