My partner and I stayed here 24th and 25th December 2014 when visiting family for Xmas. Overall we both thought it very good.
The room was quite cosy - not huge not small. Bathroom was a tad on the small side but we didn't intend swinging a cat around so this was fine.
I found the bed too firm and the pillows rock hard, but they were preferred like that by my other half. Overall, we very much liked the room.
Breakfast was a very pleasant experience : full English was just the right amount portion wise, and tasty.
We would have no qualms in recommending the Red Hall for a quick break away.

My whole family have stayed at this hotel on two occasions now. One occasion was hosted by the venue and we enjoyed a wonderful 3 course meal for 20+.
Our next visit was for B & B only and the service was as wonderful as the previous time.
My criticisms are that the hot breakfast takes quite a long time to arrive and there is a lack of bright light in the rooms - very necessary when applying make-up for a wedding!!
All in all though I'd say this is a lovely place to stay, very clean and tidy and worth the money.

If you haven't been to the Red Hall you need to go. A few years ago I had a birthday party there and Brian and his team made it a wonderful celebration to remember forever - everything was just perfect !!!!
The legends restaurant is lovely too - a month ago myself and friends had a luxury afternoon with a mouthwatering afternoon tea for 8 to celebrate a baby shower - again the staff were excellent and accommodating we spent the whole afternoon there
Last Sunday took my mum out for Sunday lunch again only words to describe the Red Halls Sunday lunch is delicious, excellent and very tasty - mum can't wait o go again soon.
I can definitely recommend the Red Hall, and it's beautiful surroundings, ambience and above all the staff are great. Xxxx

Having just enjoyed a fabulous meal at this establishment it is the first time ever I have written a review within minutes of returning home; it was so lovely.
We arrived at 1pm on a Monday in early November and were able to dine easily as the restaurant was less than a quarter full. There was plenty of room for many more diners who don't know what a treat they were missing out on.
We were shown the menu which had a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts and you could have 2 courses for £9.95 or three for £11.95.
I had the fishcake with salad, then chicken with creamed mash and green veg and carrots followed by the pear tart with ice cream. Every course was absolutely lovely made with quality ingredients and cooked to a high standard with just the right amount of food on each serving which was laid out to perfection. By the end of the meal we were pleasantly full and felt we'd had just slightly more than the right amount to eat. No tea for me!
The staff were very polite and quietly attentive, surroundings plush and clean with enough room between tables for private conversation.
I shall be visiting again and soon without a doubt, and I will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone.
Thank you Red Hall and staff for a lovely dining experience today.

Our son recently held his wedding at the Red Hall Hotel and I can honestly say that the entire experience was an absolute pleasure. The venue and organisation of the event was spot on, all the staff there are polite, helpful and above all professional in everything they do. The wedding meal was 10/10, everything was so fresh, tasty and well cooked - during the evening so many people commented to me about the standard and quality of the meal, not one person was negative.

We stayed over with some other family members that night and the rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The food theme continued the next morning with a mouth watering choice of breakfast and yet again all cooked to a very high standard and quality.

In my opinion you just can't go wrong at the Red Hall and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a smooth run event with excellent food.

Myself and my husband selected this hotel to stay in whilst attending a friends wedding party in Somerseat a few minutes away. The gentleman on reception was friendly and booking in was easy.
The room was modern and comfortable (room 32)and with a nice modern bathroom.
We slept well and enjoyed the full breakfast which was worth paying for. All in all an enjoyable stay for £75 all in. Thank you

We stayed here on 26th September 2014, as a family celebration, for my mother's 80th birthday. We were made to feel extremely welcome by Manuel (Barman), Ian (Restaurant Manager) and one of the Company Directors (Brian, I think was his name). We had been there for a meal in 1984 for what was then my grandmother's 80th and I still had the original bill. When i told them about this, all the staff were eager to see it. They then started to show us all the changes over the years and couldn't have been more friendly. We had a fantastic meal, the food was excellent. There was also entertainment in the restaurant. A male singer, who was also excellent. We had a fantastic evening and a lovely stay. The rooms were lovely and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this place for a meal or overnight stay, or both. Hotel reception staff were also very helpful and friendly.

We use the restaurant regularly and always take visitors for Sunday lunch. Hotel restaurants often leave a lot to be desired, not so the Red Hall. They book many weddings in their function rooms and have many smaller groups in the restaurant, but the kitchen continue to turn out excellent fare regardless of the workload. You will always get a great welcome, and first class service from Maitre'D Pepe and his staff. This prices are reasonable for the standards provided. One small gripe to the management, please dont keep moving the popular staff

I stayed here one night on business. It was easy to find, being just half a mile from the motorway junction and only a couple of miles from the centre of Bury.

The room was fairly large with good facilities. A large flat screen tv on the wall, a comfortable double bed, touch-activated bedside lights. Everything was clean and functional. The bathroom was also spotless, tiled floor to ceiling and had a bath as well as a shower. The shower was a full-force jet - perfect for waking me up! My only criticism of the room is that it lacked any character or personalisation - I could have been in a chain hotel anywhere in the UK.

I had a meal with some colleagues in the restaurant, and the food was original and good. Similarly the breakfast was also good - with a freshly cooked breakfast alongside a buffet continental selection.

Service throughout was professional and friendly, from check-in to check-out. I booked direct on the phone and it was all handled without any fuss.

It would be nice to have some leisure facilities, but otherwise it was perfect for my overnight trip.

Been struggling to find a great hotel in the area for many, many months and discovered Red Hall Hotel - it's a little gem!

Extremely welcoming from the roadside, ample, safe parking, highly maintained inside and out, with a very welcoming Reception/Team. Easy, smooth booking in and up to the room, on the 2nd floor overlooking the fields at the rear. Lovely and quiet, exactly as requested.

Room was spotless, really comfy bed/pillows, bathroom was immaculate and modern, well appointed room with flat screen TV, tea/coffee facilities, even an ironing board, which came in handy!!

Didn't go down to Legends Bar/Restaurant (which look great on the way to the room) was pretty tired so booked room service. Extremely quick!!.... Good was hot, well presented and very tasty! Recommended.

Have already re-booked for my next business trip. Will definitely be a regular guest!

Well done to the Red Hall Hotel team for providing a great hotel and a quality service.

We stayed here just for one night to attend a wedding being held at the Hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful. As we were travelling up from London I phoned ahead and asked about the possibility of early check-in. When we arrived our room was already ready. During our stay the receptionist, bar staff, morning breakfast staff and housekeeping were all superb. Real customer service experienced here!

Rooms were well kept, clean and a fair size. Breakfast was delicious.

I stayed at this hotel recently because I was working in the area. On arrival the reception area is very upmarket and the greeting I received was warm and welcoming. All the staff did their best to help.

The room was decorated to a high standard and is very modern. The bathroom was great and I enjoyed a relaxing dip in a bath that filled in an instant. The room had all mod cons and the only negative point is that it was a bit tight on space but otherwise great.

The hotel is sort of secluded so we chose to eat in the restaurant. Prices were very reasonable and the food was tasty. Many of us had the burger special which is huge.

A wide variety of things were available at breakfast. I had a full English as one must when stopping away and it was delicious. Nice bacon!

All in all it was a positive experience and everything was as expected if not better.

Would I return to stay again? Yes definitely.

Stayed here on Saturday, 4th October for a family 50th birthday celebration. Check in was quick and efficient. Our room on the first floor was lovely, well appointed and very clean and was quiet due to having a field view.

Throughout our stay all staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble considering they were busy with a wedding and another function upstairs. Twelve of us dined in Legends Restaurant (separate review) and was lovely.

Breakfast was good and the ten of us who stayed overnight were able to sit together. Lisa our waitress was happy and took our orders efficiently and overall breakfast was very goo.

Overall a good hotel with great staff and would stay again,

This was the second time I have stayed at this hotel and the staff were as attentive as ever.
The breakfast were server quickly and efficiently and it was good. The evening meal menu was excellent with a good variety of choices all seemingly well presented and judging by all the empty plates around well cooked.
One small gripe, try and avoid rooms overlooking the smoking shelter, noisy revellers can keep you awake well in to the night.

Four of us went to the Red hall Restaurant for lunch, not staying at the hotel. Very nice looking restaurant, had the lunch menu, the food was presented nicely and was very tasty, however all but one of the staff, especially the head waiter seemed to have been sucking lemons all day, as we were unable to get a smile out of them, due to this, very unusually for us we did not leave a tip.
The meal was very reasonably priced.

As we were attending a family function on a Sunday we decided to go early and spend a couple of days here. This hotel was unknown to us, although we had previously lived in the Bury area. Parking was without problem, with plenty of space to the rear of the hotel. Indeed finding the hotel was easy, being just off the motorway network. Our welcome was genuinely warm and we soon settled in to our fairly spacious modern hotel room. We had invited a nephew and his wife to join us for supper. There was the aftermath of a wedding present and, at no time, did we feel overwhelmed by numbers or in anyway out of place. There is plenty of space here for everyone. The menu was extensive and the food quality was amazing - it takes a lot to amaze me! I had been expecting average, but this was excellent. Bury is well known for it's black pudding and it featured in the starters. Chef had blended it well and my nephew was in heaven. My starter included crayfish. I just wish other chefs would make more use of them, as it is a great way of using up an invasive species. The mains were of equally superb quality and included liver which was divine, as was the steak - blue came out blue. The two men supplemented their mains with some excellent Guinness. So the evening continued, culminating in nightcaps in an anteroom between the main restaurant and the bar. In this area drinks and bar snacks can be enjoyed in comfort. It was a truly great evening, during which we enjoyed a level of quality which, I have to confess, was unexpected. So it was at breakfast time, with an extensive menu selection being presented, to start the day. There was no sign of the dreaded breakfast buffet here! The family gathering went well and, once again, for a large group the food quality was of an excellent standard - not always an easy task for some chefs. The hotel has great flexibility and was designed to cater for both large social functions and business meetings. It was our pleasure to stay here and we are grateful to Will, Sam, Manuel and Alberto for taking such excellent care of us throughout our time there..

The Red Hall was the chosen venue of my daughter and her now husband to hold their wedding reception on Saturday 6th September 2014. As the parents of the bride, my wife and I are over the moon at their choice.
As a venue, The Red Hall is very well located. It is exceptionally well maintained, unlike some other local potential wedding venues and it is very clear that the planning and effort that goes into a wedding is fully appreciated by the staff.
From the moment our guests arrived the staff were excellent. They were all extremely smart, polite and attentive and cannot be faulted.
The wedding meal was excellent (very good sized portions too) and the service throughout was faultless, for example the iced water on the tables was regularly refilled without any need to request it and our wedding planner (Warren) kept us informed throughout the day as to what and when things were happening, he was top notch!
As The Red Hall do an 'all inclusive' type package it takes a lot of the pressure of planning a wedding away. They use the services of numerous local companies and because they have worked together many times it is seemless. They even include a really nice gesture of a first anniversary meal for the newlyweds.
My daughter and her husband were over the moon with their special day and we cannot thank everyone at The Red Hall enough for everything they did to make the day so memorable.

I stayed at the Red Hall Hotel earlier this month for a wedding. It is really easy to find. It's just off the motorway, but not so close that you can hear it. There's ample parking on site.
The rooms are really well set out. As I had my toddlers with me, the only thing it would have benefitted from was a mini-bar fridge (that I could keep milk in). What was there was superb though. The bed was really comfy.
The staff were really nice and friendly. Breakfast too was fantastic. On my first morning I had eggs Benedict. The egg was poached to perfection, and the hollandaise was nice and tangy. On my second morning I had a full-English with real Bury black pudding.
The price was reasonable too, although I got a discount as I was with a wedding party.
I'd recommend this hotel to anybody staying in this area.

We stayed at Red Hall for 3 nights then returned for one night the following weekend. It can be difficult to book a room for Saturday nights as it is a popular wedding venue. We found that the staff at the hotel were welcoming and friendly they appear to be motivated to provide a good service and enable their guests to feel relaxed and comfortable. We stayed in 2 different rooms both were spacious, clean, well maintained and well equiped. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cereal, juice, fruit and so on. There was a good choice of cooked food including full english, kippers, smoked haddock and smoked salmon. We had dinner in the restaura nt on one evening the food was delicious, hot and well presented. The hotel sometimes has restaurant deals ie 40% off the al a carte menu when booked on line .Worth looking out for.

Stayed here due to a wedding we attended. The room (1) was a good size, bathroom clean and tidy. The duvet was too heavy and hot for the summer as the windows only opened slightly, there were no sheets available in the room and late a night I really could not be bothered ringing for assistance. Can't fault anything else other that the duvet. Would recommend this hotel. I have not yet sampled the breakfast but the wedding meal was excellent which rare these days.

Stayed with friend before her wedding. We stayed in a connecting room. Lovely hotel but found the rooms quite small and quite compact . Breakfast was lovely , lots of choices and the kids loved helping themselves .Would recommend for weddings 😉 had a fantastic day and staff were lovely .

Me and my wife booked on late and paid only £50 via late rooms

Absolute bargain we didn't expect it to be so nice. We didn't have breakfast I'm sure it would
of been lovely if it was upto the standard we experienced.

Highly recommend and would

This is a review of most most recent of a total of four visits.

The hotel has an excellent bar and restaurant with friendly, efficient staff.

Rooms are comfortable, but lack air conditioning, so can get very warm on those rare sunny days!
