Great location. Rooms very pricey for what they are. I had a single that was cold and not cleaned properly. Windows left open so insects in the room. Tea cups and spoons were dirty

Although billed under the Great Western name, we felt it was more "OK" than great. Room was quite small and a little run down. There were spiders hatching in the bathroom and the mattress had seen better days. To their credit the management replaced the mattress when we complained. Be aware that if there is a wedding reception or party booked then noise may be a problem. Similarly, you will probably have a long wait at the bar to be served and a further much longer wait if you order from the bar menu. The food when it arrived was good and reasonable value for money. However for what they charge the Bolholt is acceptable.

Rooms great or the one we had was but getting to it not the best very narrow hallways and stairs
Struggled with bags.
We were staying for a reception which was held in the stables which was 100 to 150 yards up a unlit cobblestone and concrete road which was very unkept which I ended up using my phone's light to help then on the return journey the weather was horrendous there was no cover or umbrellas supplied so we looked like we had just got out of the shower no pun intended but that really put dampener on the whole evening it would have been reduced if all the above would have been explained when we arrived
Only 3 stars as the staff in general were ok and room was clean and quiet

Apart from the approach (industrial estate next to it), very nice. Friendly staff, nice garden out back.

We stayed at the hotel for a wedding. In relation to the setting up of the wedding the staff could not have been more helpful, they were patient and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. We called ahead and was permitted to go in the day before to set the room up, although this was only the case because they did not have another event on if they had we would have had to do everything the morning of the wedding. I booked my room nearly a year in advance (as soon as I got the invite) and stipulated on the booking the children are both early teenage. When we went to check in were given a room with a double bed and a double pull out bed meaning that the children (1 boy and 1 girl) were forced to have to share a bed which to me is poor and completely in appropriate and this needs to be addressed. I even asked staff if they had a separate set of bedding so they were at least not sharing a duvet but was told no they didn't so we had to make do. Breakfast was not included and was a little on the expensive side however, the choice was huge and the well presented, cooked and organised we didn't mind. The prices were not too bad either. Ok to stay in for one night or a weekend away but not somewhere I would stay for more than this.
