It's absolutely true - one thing that makes The British Queen stand out from other pubs in the arear (in addition of course to their fabulous bar and friendly team!) is their genuine love of food.
The new autumn a la carte menu is the perfect example of this. What comes through is their passion for great flavours and inspirational ingredients, most often locally sourced, which makes the food an absolute delight to enjoy.
On the menu this season are soufflés, snails & homemade pies, as well as adventurous seasonal dishes from roast hake with seafood and saffron, to succulent pigs' cheeks and rich slow-cooked venison. Desserts don't disappoint either with a delicous selection of treats on offer - crêpes suzettes, caramel soufflés and Normandy apple tart... choosing between them is going to be the most difficult part!
