Winter Skin Care
12th January 2010
... Comments
Well into Jan 2010 and we are having the coldest winter ever. Majority of us are snowed in and housebound.

Heating turned up high, when at home and all but the face wrapped up warm when baring the cold outside; ever wondered what happens to the skin on your face?

The harsh conditions may leave it feeling and looking:
  • Dry
  • Dull
  • Itchy
  • Flaky
  • Irritated

If this is something you can relate to, then there are a few very simple things you can do:

  • Have a facial sauna - poor hot water into a bowl and gently steam your face, cover your head with a towel creating a mini facial sauna. This will increase the moisture level in your skin, help increase blood circulation, loosen upper layers of dead skin cells, and unblocks pores, leaving your skin feeling hydrated, soft and supple.

  • Exfoliate - use a gentle exfoliater and massage into damp skin in circular motion. work up the neck, on to the cheeks and then then the forehead. Pay special attention to the T-Zone, (forehead, nose and chin) as this area tens to be greasier and have black heads. This will remove the dead skin cells, increase blood circulation, revealing a new layer of cells, leaving skin looking fresh, healthy and glowing.
  • Face mask - use a nourishing face mask suitable to your skin type, apply evenly over the neck, and the whole face, avoiding eye area. This will help further draw out impurities from deep within the skin, increase blood circulation providing much needed oxygen and nourishment to all skin cells. Will give an even tone and texture to the skin and that much desired youthful look.

The above is recommended at least once a week along side your cleanse and tone routine and you will be Good to Glow!
