UK hotels had a strong month in August, with both London and the regions experiencing a rise in occupancy and room rates. Occupancy at London hotels rose to 92%, while the regions saw their first increase in room rate in 2010, that's according to figures from PKF Hotel Consultancy Services

The Princess Royal will officially re-open The National Brewing Centre. The attraction will get the royal seal of approval when it is officially opened by Princess Anne on September 21st.

and finally...a survey by The Publican revealed that on average, a pint of beer is now 51p more in the South than in the North. Drinkers pay the most for a pint of bitter at £2.88 on average in the South East, compared to £2.37 in the North East
