How has the Hen and Stag Party changed over the years?

When I was gettting married (nearly 24 years ago), the traditional Hen Night celebration was out for a drink and a meal with close family and friends to your local pubs and club.  You may have a sticker on your back with 'Bride to be' or something similar, but nothing much to indicate your reason for celebration.

Then the trend changed to the bride being dressed up in a bin liner with lots of messages and various other items being attached to it, and a pub crawl.

Going away to Blackpool for the weekend then became popular, and even further afield in the UK.

Male or female 'stripograms' started to turn up at events.

Hen and Stag parties moved from being just a one evening event to much more, with perhaps a day at the races and then moving on to an evening event, overnight stay and second day of activities and (usually) more drinking.

With the introduction of cheaper flights, Hen Party weekends away moved from the UK and initially to European Cities such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Prague and Paris.  Members of the party wearing T-Shirts to indicate there relationship to the bride or groom.

For the guys, a session of Kart Racing has moved on to Race track experience days.

Now it seems that organising a Hen or Stag party is big business - people are now employed as party organisers! And possibly needs to be as memorable as the wedding itself!

How much does a typical Hen or Stag party cost now?
