Operated by Raglan Housing, the accommodation houses women and children who come to the project under desperate circumstances and often with nothing but the clothes on their back.  “The event can be particularly upsetting for young children who may have had to leave their homes in a hurry, leaving their favourite teddy or toy behind,” said Sally Dyde, Raglan Head of Sheltered and Supported Housing.

“A small donation of a £5 gift card which they can spend on clothing, toiletries, toys or a special treat, would go a long way towards bringing a little festive cheer and a smile to these women and children in crisis this Christmas.”

Raglan staff work across the Christmas period and do their utmost to ensure that residents at the refuge feel as secure as possible during what can be a difficult time, providing a Christmas dinner and spreading the festive spirit in every way they can.

Raglan, which manages over 12,000 homes in England, is also running their Christmas gift card appeal in other women’s refuges and supported housing projects across the country.

Gift card donations can be dropped off or posted to Raglan Housing’s regional offices at Waverly House, 115-118 Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth BH8 8DY up until 24 December.
