A $1000 donation from the Saxon Square Shopping Centres community donation campaign was made to the Christchurch Life Saving Club
The funding was used to purchase rescue tubes, flotation devices that are used in water rescues, as well as a trailer to help them transport their life saving equipment to where it is needed most.
The equipment remains on hand in case of emergencies during the Club’s regular patrols of Friar’s Cliff Beach and Avon Beach.
They also benefited from National Lottery funding previously towards the purchase of a new rescue boat.
Its great to hear that worthy volunteer groups are successful in obtaining funds to help them help the community.
