Step into the shoes of those forced to flee their homes in Afloat, a compelling theatre for social change performance that sheds light on the real-life struggles of asylum seekers. Set in a fictional world where two English citizens must seek asylum abroad, the production flips the familiar narrative and immerses audiences in a gripping story of fear, survival, and resilience.
Inspired by true accounts, Afloat invites viewers to confront the emotional and bureaucratic challenges of the asylum process, amplifying the voices of those often unheard. Developed in collaboration with Asylum Link, the performance is brought to life by individuals with lived experience, who were trained and empowered to create theatre as a means of expression, healing, and advocacy.
The evening includes a post-show discussion led by Asylum Link, offering space for reflection and meaningful dialogue on how communities can offer better support and solidarity to asylum seekers and refugees.
This is more than a performance—it's a call to empathy, action, and deeper understanding.
