Classy place in the heart of Bolton. Great food and atmosphere.

Olympus is by far one of the best fish and chip eateries in the UK, and I've visited a fair few up and down the country.
As soon as you walk in you are greeted and seated (They ask you where you'd prefer to sit, rather than chucking you somewhere) which makes you comfortable.
When you're ready to order, you simply visit the counter and within 5 minutes or so your food arrives. The portion size is good and not overwhelming.
The atmosphere of the place is fantastic. Taso, the owner of the business, is very chatty and engages with everyone he can and is the heart and soul of the place. His staff are very attentive and helpful.
Every now and again you'll find a pianist playing soft melodies in the centre of the room which adds a nice classy touch.
The open conservatory/Orangery in the back is very appealing and leads out to a well presented 'Back garden area' which also has seating in nice weather.
My last visit was today (Wednesday 14th June) and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal I had with a good friend of mine who tried the food here for the first time)
I've been visiting this place for almost 20 years and the food has been consistently good. For the reasons above, I highly recommend this restaurant and wish continued success in years to come.

This is THE place if you remember traditional fish and chip shops especially at the seaside. Great quality food with friendly and efficient staff. Just the same for a pre-show supper this evening - excellent.

Lovley place pizza is stunning. Amazing cup of tea and super prices. Can't recommend enough also serves ice cream what more could you ask for. Lovley staff will defo be back.

Group of 26 (pre ordered)descended on this eatery and everything was first class. Would definitely recommend it to everyone who wants first class food, service and value.

Had the Scampi and it was delicious! Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought there was table service, but I had to order at the counter. It was extremely busy for a Monday and had to wait about 10 minutes for a table for 1, as dud the party of 4 in front of me. Will definitely be back!

Loved the plaice and the place. Fish, chips and mushy peas, a real treat, especially with the background music provided by an excellent pianist playing music from musicals and many old standards. Delightful.

Was lovely food and all the staff were very, very helpful we wanted for nothing and the owners were very nice we wish that all restaurants would be like this one and forgot to say how clean it is all I Can say is excellent

The main meal was really nice and tasty.
I had a pudding, which was Apple pie & custard
But it was so bland and tasteless I couldn't finish it. That's why I only gave 4*, other wise it definitely would have been 5*.

Lovely place.
Came after an appointment I had elsewhere, I'm based in Manchester.
Shared a fish and chips with a family member and had some filtered coffee.
Good service and nice vibes. Would be nice to see the piano being played if I came again but in the evening.

Often go to Olympus prior to theatre. The staff are amazing and attentive. Fish and chips are the best around.

Visited for lunch and had the salmon and cod special. We also had a bottle of Sauvignon. Food was excellent quality although the salmon I opted for was grilled and was slightly over cooked. Portion sizes are relatively small for the price in my opinion.
The wine selection is small but the Sauvignon we had was unexpectedly good.
We were welcomed at the door and informed to sit anywhere and someone would be over with a menu. The menu took a little time to make its way over.
Overall, I would say the food is generally excellent and the wine is surprisingly good. Portion size is marginally below average. My negatives are critical but honest. Definitely recommend a visit however!

It's beautifully furnished. Tastefully decorated and the staff are amazing. The food was proper traditional fish and chips but at nearly £14 for what was quite a small portion with a slice of bread and a cup of tea. I thought was very expensive so it's a special occasion visit for me in future I'm afraid.
