We visited with my class and the theatre was lovely. I loved the layout and felt almost as if I was part of the play. The cast of Christmas Carol were fantastic and all the staff were brilliant.

We recently visited to watch Christmas Carol and it was an outstanding performance! All of the actors and stage staff were absolutely wonderful, and gave an engaging and magical performance. Definitely feeling Christmassy now! I would recommend this show to anyone.

The venue itself provided a unique experience for us, with the main theatre being a 360° stage. The bars and cafe were great, with delicious food. We had a lovely day out here.

A compact, warm and welcoming theatre.

A compact theatre that has a warmth to it. The auditorium, being in the round, almost feels like it's giving you a hug. Front of House areas are relatively small but offer a mix of furnishings, bars and dining.

We started visiting the Octagon about 4 years ago and now see every production. We've yet to see a disappointing one. They have all been excellent and the theatre space is excellent with good views from all seats no matter what shape is used for a particular performance. Friendly staff and volunteers and car parks nearby all add up to an excellent venue.

Very old fashioned old school theatre.

Great place especially after the refurbishment. Great viewing, in the round, so the actors make sure they move around the central stage giving everyone a fair chance of seeing and hearing them clearly. Lovely bar areas on all 3 levels.

Lovely theatre, in the round. A guest had a medical incident during the show. It was handled swiftly with compassion and kindness. We saw Private Lives. It was excellent.

I went to the matinee performance of Pride and Prejudice.
What a fantastic production, such an amazing cast and a truly excellent script.
The music too is very clever.
I couldn't single out just one person, because they were all just brilliant!
So brilliant even, that my friend didn't even realise that Mary (played with great comedic effect) and Mr Bingley were the same actor.
Mr Collins AKA Mr Wickham was so odious and very funny.
Mr Bennett also played Anne, so farcical and great fun.
The actor playing Mrs Bennett was the best portrayal of this character that I've ever seen, and the fact that she was on crutches as she scooted about, just added to the whole performance.
Mr D'arcy, well, his first appearance had the desired effect and when he just uttered the line with only one word: "Good", I nearly fell off my chair laughing.
In the scene when he and Elizabeth were about to join hands, I felt the emotional tension between them crackle.
The last scene was genius and had me feeling so emotional
It was all so immersive, made even more so because of the octagonal shape of the stage.
The costumes, music and lighting, all first class.
The direction too, was so clever, particularly when the actors were moving the furniture around and Mr Collins did so whilst still in character, that was hysterical
It was all, just so splendid!

I visited the Octagon theatre on Thursday to watch an updated spin on a classic Private Lives, well I was not disappointed! From the first second of the play to the very last i felt fully emerged in the 1930’s, it was funny, cunning and all the wonderful aspects you get with a live performance.

The best part of the whole night had to be the cast, every member brought to life the different personalities at play and were absolutely mesmerising! But an extra special mention has to go to the lead actor who played Elyot, he really was the cherry on the cake, I have doubt in my mind that he will go far. Noël Coward would be proud.

Overall a very loverly night, a great theatre with really nice staff, would 100% recommend. Would be great if someone from the theatre could please pass this onto the production team.

A fantastic venue with a lovely pre-theatre meal. The front of house team were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. Just one small suggestion — it would be even more comfortable in the theatre with the heating on
