It's a nice little theatre, almost in the round. Only seats a couple of hundred, but that means everyone is close to the action. The stairways and corridors are narrow and a bit labyrinthine. Food at the Kitchen was great, with vegan and gluten-free options and a special themed menu for the current production (Waiting for Godot, in our case). Drinks, snacks and ice cream available in the bars. A little spot to keep your children amused. Clean, modern, well presented. Accessible toilet, lift, space for wheelchair viewing.

Such a super little theatre. The seats go right onto the stage and any seat is a fabulous view. You feel right in on the action on stage, so you can get really involved. The scene changes were smooth, and the actors were amazing. The volunteer staff were really friendly and helpful. Great evening out.

Watched the Memory of Water. Not heard of the play or Shelagh Stephenson but really enjoyed it. Well acted and well written. A lovely surprise.

We went to see The Memory of Water at the Octagon. It's a lovely little theatre, with interesting and varied shows. The play We saw was very well done and had the audience gripped.
We sat in the middle of the stalls, but I'd say that all seats have a good view. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The bar/cafe is nice and the interval drinks order service was very efficient.
We'll definitely be back for some other shows.

The Octagon is a small friendly theatre in the (nearly) round - more accurately in the octagon!

The production we saw was a musical version of the Christmas Carol, and was played by a small cast, each taking several parts.

It was well played! Sufficiently well played that I didn't enjoy it. I'm no fan of Dickens, not enjoying his emotional roller coasters, and wouldn't have gone if the family hadn't decided we would. There was much emotional roller coasting, which left me, as it always does, emotionally stressed!
