First time visiting since the revamp and what a lovely place it is now. The staff are friendly and there’s a nice cafe which is extremely reasonable priced. Will be back!

A fantastic venue with a lovely pre-theatre meal. The front of house team were friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. Just one small suggestion — it would be even more comfortable in the theatre with the heating on

My partner and I held our wedding reception in the Crescent Room and Bar of the Octagon on Saturday 2nd August 2025. Throughout the whole planning experience, Nat and the team were unbelievably helpful, kind and always ready to answer any question. They were happy to let us have a viewing of the space and didn’t mind when we added in a few extra people just a couple of weeks before the date!

On the actual night, the team were just as helpful as they’d been in the run up towards it. The music system was fantastic and easy to use with an aux cable (that we bought from Amazon - easy enough for us!) into my husbands phone. The bartender on the night provided a fantastic and quick service the whole night. The food we chose was a selection of sandwiches, varying snack foods, pizzas and chips. All of the food was piping hot and very yummy - I’m pretty sure there was none left over! We’d chosen to have some welcome drinks too, which were helpfully put on the tables for our arrival after the wedding ceremony.

Throughout the entire process, the team at the Octagon were just so amazing. I had the best night of my life so far and such a memorable wedding. I highly recommend their rooms and their services. It was well worth what we paid, and I’m so grateful for all the work they put into it. Thank you!

A great evening was had at the theatre where we watched a performance of Pride and Prejudice. Our seats gave a fantastic view of the show as the seats form a circle around the stage. The onsite bar provided a good choice of coffee and drinks. Ice cream during the interval too!

I went to the matinee performance of Pride and Prejudice.
Wow! Just Wow!
What a fantastic production, such an amazing cast and a truly excellent script.
I couldn't single out just one person, because they were all just brilliant!
So brilliant even, that my friend didn't even realise that Mary (played with great comedic effect) and Mr Bingley were the same actor.
Mr Collins (the same actor who also played the dashing Mr Wickham) was so odious and very funny.
Mr Bennett also played Anne, so farcical and great fun.
The actor playing Mrs Bennett was the best portrayal of this character that I've ever seen, and the fact that she was on crutches as she scooted about, just added to the whole performance.
Mr D'arcy, well, his first appearance had the desired effect and when he just uttered the line with only one word: "Good", I nearly fell off my chair laughing.
In the scene when he and Elizabeth were about to join hands, I felt the emotional tension between them crackle.
The last scene was genius and had me feeling so emotional
It was all so immersive, made even more so because of the octagonal shape of the stage.
The costumes, music and lighting, all first class.
The direction too, was so clever, particularly when the actors were moving the furniture around and Mr Collins did so whilst still in character, that was hysterical
Just one thing I would maybe ask of the theatre is perhaps a request for the audience to keep within the boundaries of the stage.
My friend was enjoying herself so much and was incredibly relaxed that her legs were stuck out onto the stage, (which is level with the floor of the audience), as if she was watching from home and sprawled out on the sofa!
I had to keep kicking her to draw them in! 😂

Went there to see pride and prejudice. Friendly staff who are helpful, comfortable seats for a reasonable price, because of the architecture you feel involved in the play as the stage is at the center and the sound effects are great. We ordered interval drinks which we could collect easily and there was also an icecream seller at the stage during the interval. It’s very close to station (7 minute walk) so you can travel there even without a car. Also nice seating area and bar outside, excellent experience overall.
