Partnership
Backup North West provide support and housing for homeless and vulnerable young people who are single.
The scheme also works closely in partnership with a number of other agencies in Bolton to deliver supported housing to young people aged 16-25.
Backup North West helps young people to build the confidence needed to live independently and actively within their local community.
Supported Accommodation
Backup accommodates 100 young people at any one time and supports 350 every year. All the flats are fully furnished and supplied with bedding, towels, pots and pans, plates and cutlery. A young person can stay with Backup for up to two years, although the average stay is around 12-13 months. This may be in more than one of our projects.

When the young person has developed sufficient independent living skills to move into their own tenancy, a support worker will help to arrange this and provide continued support.
About Backup North West
Backup North West, formerly known as Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme was first set up in 1992 to meet the needs of single young homeless people in Bolton.
The team at Backup consists of 52 staff and 25 sessional workers. This team work together to help scheme users to develop basic living skills, assist with problems and promote independence, as well as finding accommodation and providing ongoing support.
