Four Festival of Literature events for schools in Bishop’s Stortford

Organisers of the Bishop’s Stortford College’s Festival of Literature are really keen to engage the town’s children during next February’s third annual festival and have arranged four events just for school children throughout the week.


Tuesday 7th Feb 2012 2-3pm


Author Anne Fine, author of ‘How To Write Badly’ will be talking to year 5 and 6 about how to write well.


Wednesday 8th Feb 2012 2-3pm


Illustrator Chris Riddell will be talking about his work and announcing the winner of the Bishop’s Stortford Picture Book Award, presenting the winning illustrator with a prize. This is a competition that has been entered by many local junior and senior school pupils.


Thursday 9th Feb 2012 2-3pm


Author Ali Sparkes will be talking to year 5 and 6 pupils about her wonky path to ‘authordom’ and the background to her bestselling Shapeshifters and Unleashed series.


Thursday 9th Feb 2012 7.30-9pm


Kids’ Lit Quiz


Local schools are invited to make teams of 6 to include one or two adults with children from year 7 or 8 to compete in this fun competition against a team of four authors: Pauline Francis, Chris Priestly, Ali Sparkes and Steve Feasey.
