Yes, we know that it’s Halloween, but there’s no harm in being prepared!

After all, let’s face it – as soon as the kids wipe off the last of the face paint and throw that final funsize Mars Bar wrapper in the bin, Halloween will be old news and Bonfire Night will be the next date they’re obsessing about.

So if you want to make sure that your 5th of November is a veritable explosion of rockets, Catherine Wheels, barrages and brocades, rather than a damp, dark evening with the kids clutching a sparkler in the middle of a boggy field, then read on to see what’s happening this Bonfire Night.

Friday 4th November 2011

With the gates opening at 5pm and the display beginning at 7pm, the Fireworks Display at Northgate School kicks off a weekend of celebrations, and is a family friendly evening, packed with fun and entertainment.

If you’re planning on attending a fireworks display on Bonfire Night itself, you have a wealth of options to choose from:

Celebrate Bonfire Night in style this year by watching the Bishop's Stortford Grand Fireworks Display at Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club on November 5th. The fireworks are being lit by Essex Pyrotechnics and there will be a range of traditional Bonfire Night fun for the whole family.

Residents of Stansted are invited to enjoy the Bonfire Night celebrations at Stansted Village Fireworks and Bonfire at Elms Farm this year.

Alternatively, why not come along to Great Hadham Road in Bishop’s Stortford from 6pm to enjoy a spectacular Fireworks Display at St. Joseph's School, along with a wide range of entertainment for the whole family?

Not enough? Dunmow Round Table Fireworks Display is taking place at the Great Dunmow Recreation Ground, organised by Dunmow Round Table.

Ok, so it’s a little out of Bishop’s Stortford, but Saffron Walden Common is playing host to the Saffron Walden Round Table Fireworks Display, with spectacular fireworks and traditional bonfire.

Or why not watch fireworks light up Newport’s Night sky by coming along to the Fireworks Display at Newport Recreation Ground from 6:45pm?

Don't forget – there’s still time for you to add your own Bonfire Night events to the site for free, so let thebestof Bishop's Stortford know what's happening ASAP!
