Farewell to Gavin & Stacey
I take it I am not the only one who is sad to see the end of a fantastic series, GAVIN & STACEY?
I am really sad to think this fantastically written and casted comedy is leaving our screens – I do hope it’s not forever though, even if they come back and do a Christmas Special each year.
We were discussing in work our favourite characters, firstly I said Smithy and Nessa, then when you look at all the cast it a tough one to say, there’s Bryn, Pamela, Mick, Gwen, Gavin and Stacey – then don’t forget the neighbours Pete and Dawn, then there’s Gwen’s neighbour Doris – see what I mean it’s a hard one to call.
Who’s your favourite character?
I like the fact it is local as well, come on Billericay!
Only Fools and Horses
I do believe Only Fools and Horses is the best ever British comedy, but the only comedy I know to have come near to it is Gavin & Stacey – perhaps if it had run for as many series as Only Fools and Horses (OF&H) did it would then have become a great in every single household. Do you know how else I compare this to OF&H it had fantastic humour with tender subjects like Gavin’s low sperm count.
Well done to Ruth Jones and James Corden for writing such a fantastic script.
I do hope your paths will cross again.
