How do you make new year resolutions? Is it a serious business, do you make a plan or is it on the spur of the moment, just for fun?

Can you make it last through the whole year or does it only last the first month? Here are some tips that should help:

  • Make resolutions you want to do and can do, be realistic.
  • Plan properly
  • Make back up plans
  • Congratulate and reward yourself for achieving a step
  • Keep motivating yourself
  • Stick to it until it becomes a habit
  • Do not quit

Many of the resolutions we choose are self help. We can also make fun ones too which makes sticking to them easier. How about:

  • Be healthier - choose achievable ways to improve your health possibly through nutrition or exercise.
  • Stop wasting time - make your spare time special.
  • Improve your skills - do something new you have always wanted to do.
  • Travel - make it accessible.
  • Become more active.
  • Become more confident - do something out of your comfort zone.
  • Be happy - make something in each day special.
  • Be more organised.
  • Save money.
  • Read more.
