What a great day we had on Friday when our very own Mayor of Basingstoke & Deane, Cllr Brian Gurden joined Steve & Debbie from The Best of Basingstoke and visited a total of eight local Basingstoke businesses to present them with their well deserved certificates. These were awarded to them after the latest '14 Days of Love' campaign organised by the National network of thebestof franchises who only promote the best businesses from each town throughout the UK. No less than eight Basingstoke businesses achieved awards after coming in the Top 3 of their category which was a nationwide poll of over 30,000 businesses spread over nearly 400 bestof areas. Mayflower won 'Most Loved' Chinese Restaurant in the whole of the UK, The Lime Leaf won 'Most Loved' Thai Restaurant in the whole of the UK, Basingstoke Foot Clinic won 'Most Loved' Podiatrist in the whole of the UK, Trilbys won 2nd 'Most Loved' Hairdressers, The Bead Base won 2nd 'Most Loved' Arts & Crafts shop, Pitman Training won 3rd 'Most Loved' Training company, The Secret Garden won 3rd 'Most Loved' Jewellers and Ma Humbugs won 3rd 'Most Loved' Confectioners.
Our Mayor, Cllr Brian Gurden said that it was no mean achievement of these Basingstoke businesses who have all proved that they are amongst the best in the UK and he was proud of their outstanding efforts.
