Helping Buckskin to Bloom
18th June 2016

The latest week long community clean started in Buckskin on Monday 13 June to tackle issues previously highlighted by the council’s community services operations team and feedback from local residents.

Council teams’ work focussed on litter picking and maintaining shrubs with support from Sovereign Housing Association’s grounds maintenance contractors, John O’Conner, to improve the look of the area.

The council’s Cabinet Member for Regulatory Services and the Environment Cllr Hayley Eachus said: “By responding to the community for enhanced clean ups we are able to really support the excellent work done by the community in the area and encourage residents to take a real pride in where they live.”

Sovereign Housing Association’s Regional Director Luke Bingham said: “On top of regular maintenance and clean ups, the work we’re doing this week in partnership with Basingstoke and Deane and the local community is all part of our commitment to keeping Buckskin tidy.”

For more information on the clean ups planned in the borough contact the council on 01256 8448444.
