... Comments

Come and see the Olympic Torch as it hits Basildon.  This is all part of the big build up for the London 2012 opening ceremony on 27 July 2012.

The torch arrived from Greece on Saturday 19 May and has been used to light the London torch and is now being carried across the country by specially chosen torchbearers.

It is due to pass through over 1000 towns and villages up and down the country during the 70 day lead up to the opening ceremony at the Olympic Park, Stratford, East London on Friday, 27 July 2012.

The Olympic Torch is leading Basildon Sporting Village at around 4pm and then it will travel along:

Cranes Farm Road

Onto Upper Mayne

It will travel past the Basildon Council Offices and then over the Roundacre

Turning onto Southenhay, pass the Bus Station before passing under the Railway bridge

Continuing down Cherrydown East and Ashdon Way it will then rejoin Nethermayne before travelling onto Grays…
