We ate at Base at lunchtime. They have a varied menu with daily specials. It was easy to choose. I chose the Halibut with madras orzo, mussels and tempura sea greens, which was substituted with cod, it was delicious. My husband chose the venison off the specials board. Which he enjoyed. The service was great and the food was excellent. It’s tricky to find the restaurant if you’re not local but worth the hunt. We will definitely be returning when we visit Ulverston again.

Just attended silver Saturday event 2026. As usual it was a good afternoon. Belting singer (Rebecca)to start us off and she closed the event. All performances,very entertaining.

Nice quaint market..And had breakfast there well worth a visit...The point of the visit was to go and find the statues of Laurel and Hardy which are fantastic
