Ford Park is a great place for the family.
The café is now run by a different team / organisation. Limited choice of food.

Ford Park is run by a voluntary group who maintain the grounds beautifully. There are areas to exercise dogs and a play area for younger ones. A garden nursery, for purchase of plants, is open on Saturdays offering a reasonable variety of well grown plants at reasonable prices. There is a small cafe that offers a limited but great tasting foods.i have spent many hours here and always enjoyed myself. Hope you enjoy it too.

Nice park close to town centre, with a zip line, swings, rope climbing frame and other activity centers, with two large fields either side of a central pathway that leads to the Monument

Not quite got the impressive views as the Hoad Monument but this is a nice park with lots of kids and plenty of space.

My first experience of volunteering in a town where I knew nobody. Rewarding and of benefit to my mental recovery. Led to friendships and the confidence to try new things. Nowadays I love taking friends on an amateur guided tour. Plus relaxing on the field after lunch in the cafe with my grandson is a new feeling of achievement

December 2020, and sadly, due to Coronovirus the cafe is closed. There is parking here by donation and the park and hill remain open. Much loved by dog walkers, families and walkers, the climb up the hill may be breezy, but rewards you with spectacular 360 degree views. Please give a donation for parking and support to the cafe when it reopens. This place is a much loved gem and we need to ensure it remains well maintained

Our first time at The Base, definitely won't be our last. The food was superb. Mark's presentation was fantastic, made even better by the fact its an open kitchen, so could watch him prepare everything. Nice touch at the end when he went round every table. Friendly staff. Top night.

First time trying the evening menu, all courses were delicious and presentation was fab. Friendly, attentive staff and loved being able to watch Chef prepare/present food in open kitchen. Love that menu will always be different; you can view the menus up to month in advance and so can pick which evening has best menu to suit taste. Chef coming round at end of meal was a nice touch; will defiantly book again. Very covid aware and excellent value.

We had a fab lunch yesterday. I had the best ever duck confit and much beloved had a mussel risotto which he rated 10 out of 10! I highly recommend this lovely food experience. And the gluten free is great with lots of choices for a change.

A really great place. A very easy car park in the park, and loads of on the road parking nearby. A wonderfully eventful place with a play ground, zip wire, free to use piano, cafe and gardens and loads of events. Had the best time performing here and its super close to both the centre of Ulverston and the top of Hoad Hill for some stunning views of the South Lakes and the coastline. Loved my time here.
