A good place to take kids to run about and enjoy themselves. Called into the cafe for lunch which we both thoroughly enjoyed. A nice walk up to the hoad monument to take in the amazing views. Very lucky to have had clear skies on the day. After a walk back down we called into the cafe for ice cream and a much deserved coffee. Would recommend both the cafe and the play area.

Piping in and Piping Hot
The celebration of the Haggis was a total success.
A packed Restaurant was served a real treat by a very competent and lovely staff.
Gluten free and special dishes were available at this charming and hospitable .
Kerry Willison Parry moved the Ode to the Haggis in a wonderful and human manner (with several swirls of the Dagger) after the Mans a man for all that spirit.
Many a "cutty sark" in evidence thank goodness!.
Food as presented to our group of 9 was eaten with glee and well commented upon. Portion size excellent. Lots of spicy haggis and the most wonderful Clanachan trifle to finish.
Good value , good company GOOD Times.
You can eat most days from their welcoming and satisfying menu.
Look them up for a visit to The Festival Town! Free Parking.

In the summer I went with my son to play in the grass near the children’s play area and found to my disgust, dogs had been allowed to poo in that part of Ford Park. Owners are supposed to use the opposite patch of grass which is certainly of sufficient size. This was not a one off issue. Yesterday we explored the newly developed additional path that goes to the play area and woodland walk. We went in the new area with nets and wood chip. I let my son have a play and thank goodness was vigilant, as again, dog poo actually on the play area! I find it utterly disgusting that there are some people in Ulverston who are too lazy to keep their dogs on the right side of Ford park or pick up their faeces when the dangers to children are well known. Festival town it may well be, but for me, I often feel it’s a dog s**t town, thanks to these lazy individuals. Pick up after your dog or don’t have one. And how utterly disgusting to allow your dog to poo in a children’s play area which has been built for the benefit of the community by a local charity. You should be ashamed of yourselves! Unfortunately I will not be back due to this recent and past experience. But this is no reflection on the hard work of the staff at Ford Park, just on those who let their dogs poo all over it.

Lovely decor, clean looking.
Isn't many options on menu, and children's menu is on a blackboard by the service hatch.
Staff don't seem to smile much, although the cafe itself is lovely the staff don't seem very welcoming.
I asked for a coke, she said they only have Coke zero, I could see red cans in the fridge though, she said they changed the label, I was very confused but went with it anyway. What arrived was a diet coke so different again.
Anyway.... The food arrived it was lovely, I had eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, it was beautiful and very well presented, the kids had a cheese sandwich between them and that was also lovely and plenty of it.
I would recommend this cafe if having a lovely walk around hoad, great pit stop for a snack and hot drink.

Our family have particularly enjoyed the Lantern Festival events over the years. Ford Park is the perfect location for the final celebrations.
The car boot sales are perfect for browsing, and friendly conversation. Absorb the family feel of the park. Take a look around the cafe area, where you can park the car. Enjoy something to eat or just a simple cup of tea with a scone. This is a lovely green space in a delightful town.

Brilliant lantern parade and fire works display. They missed a trick in that they could have had places to eat and maybe a drink"s tent in the park.
