Barnstaple Youth Football Club are one of just ten clubs in the county to have achieved, and maintained, the prestigious and much envied status of FA Charter Standard Club. The Football Association Charter Standard Programme assesses the ability of clubs to provide high quality, safe and enjoyable football experience against high standards of criteria. The standard encourages clubs to continuously develop through on going support from the county FA staff, whose responsibility it is, to review on-going development as part of on-going health checks. The introduction of a Child Protection Policy should be seen as a clear signal that this Association is determined to ensure all necessary steps are taken to protect those children and young people who participate in youth football within all age groups. This local group meet regularly and offer children of all different ages the chance to train and play in a team sport either for fun or as a regular in a league team.
