My title to this review quotes from 'The Woman In Black' which I saw this weekend at the Garrick Theatre in my home city of Lichfield. They have made a splendid Garrick out of what was the Civic Hall of many years ago in my youth!
Situated right slap bang in the middle of town, close to the busy shopping and restaurant areas, the Garrick Theatre is a lovely intimate venue with its own Green Room Cafe and Bars.
Staff are friendly, atmosphere is warm, all in all a lovely theatre with excellent facilities and a studio theatre to boot.
Only half an hour from Birmingham, Lichfield is a gorgeous Cathedral City and the Garrick Theatre is a perfect theatre experience.
Although Garrick was not born in Lichfield he spent a lot of time there, making it his second home and a theatre in his name is very apt, Dr. Samuel Johnson is the most famous son of the city.

We have visited the Garrick twice in the last fortnight, firstly to see the woman in black, which was very good, with the two actors doing a superb job, and the second time was to see the little shop of horrors - this was excellent, the cast were very good, an they rightly received a standing ovation at the end.

The Evening was good and very injoyable,but for the sound from the microphones found it hard to hear at first.Thought that there should have been a sound check before the evening had started.

An ideal location, with nearby parking available for free in the evenings. The theatre has a nice bar called the Green Room - get your loyalty card stamped with every purchase and, when you've filled it, get a free theatre ticket. The seating in the auditorium is comfortable with a surprising amount of leg room. Nice to find the temperature is controlled and not overly hot inside.

The Garrick theatre, provides a valued entertainment and has many diverse attractions in its show case, bookings, shows, times and a popular pre show eating out location are well recommended however, it is advised to book especially on most popular attractions. Worth investigating on line or by visiting. Dependent on the show at the time this can be a family attraction. Parking is also free in the adjacent multi storey car park after 18.30hrs

First visit to the Garrick Theatre and what a delight it was. Much thought went into design that we haven't enjoyed before. Different doors depending on which side of the theatre one is sitting-simple but very effective. Offset seating so, as is often the case with my wife who is vertically challenged, one is not observing the back of someone else's head and/or bobbing around to get a better view, or indeed any view, of the stage.
Comfortable seats giving a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours laughing along with, and at, Lee Hurst and Jason Patterson, two excellent funnymen. Well worth the visit.
