Birling Gap is the perfect starting point to view these famous chalk cliffs. There is a carpark, National Trust display and store, toilets and a cafe. There are also stairs to the shingle beach where there are excellent views of chalk cliffs in both directions. From the carpark there are paths leading east to the old lighthouse and just beyond that are lovely views of the red and white Beachy Head lighthouse. Buses also serve these localities.
