Absolutely beautiful environment for a day out. Beautiful plants and cafes with a gorgeous pool area for small children to paddle in with sun loungers for parents. Incredible Jurassic park areas with animated dinosaurs and Jurassic park music for dinosaur lovers and a brilliant price to get in. Admittedly did go during week day with partner when children were at school but it's very worth a visit. It is a magical place!

We spent the day at the zoo and had the best time! Our daughter is 7 years old and she did the Zoo Keeper experience and Karen from the Birds team made such an effort to tell her about all the different animals. Skye is a huge One Zoo Three fan, so getting a behind the scenes tour of a zoo she knew so well was a really special experience. Every member of staff was keen to make it a great day, very thoughtful and genuine. Skye has ASD and can be very shy, but the team understood this and made her feel at ease. We even managed to meet Aaron and Tyler at the end of the day - they came across as such humble and decent guys, generous with their time too. Skye’s beaming smile meeting them spoke a thousand words! The lovely lady at the Zoo HQ reception desk is a credit to the park. The dinosaur section is excellent too. The whole park feels immaculate and carefully thought through. Well worth a visit to see a really well run family owned park. We hope to visit again in the future.

We visited for the first time since its changed to Hertfordshire zoo and we had a wonderful day out. The changes being made around the park and the new enclosures were absolutely brilliant. Well laid out zoo and lots of fantastic things to see and do. Lovely to see the money from tickets really being put back into the animals welfare. The restaurant was brilliant also, super fast service and a huge portion on the burger and chips and ever so tasty, brilliant value for money. All staff we interacted with were super friendly too. All round excellent day highly recommended.

We visited as members of a partner zoo so had free entry. It's a lovely zoo, so much to see and do and has a lovely feel to it.

We chose to pay extra for the Christmas Grotto experience. The cost of a child ticket was £12. Fair enough. However, they also charge £8 per adult (plus booking fee) making it just shy of £30 for our family. For that I was expecting much, much more than a tiny plush toy which was small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. Yes, the walk through was set up nicely and looked beautiful but the Santa experience was rushed and we left feeling massively short changed. I would certainly recommend visiting the zoo but couldn't recommend the Santa experience. It really was poor value for money.

Absolutely love the dinosaur park, special events, play areas, shops, eating areas but I am very concerned about some of the enclosures, not all but some, namely the big cats and for sure the snow leopard who was pacing. The refurb and upgrades are fabulous but some of these animals should be removed to zoos such as Whipsnade or Woburn where they can roam Herts zoo is simply not suitable and it’s cruel. I do not care what government guidelines are, governments talk rubbish as we all know. Common sense is all that’s needed. Please don’t make this about money Hertfordshire zoo, re home the big animals……

Great visit – quiet, relaxed and perfect for a toddler

We visited Hertfordshire Zoo on a Monday morning with four adults and a just under two-year-old, and it was the perfect time to go. It was really quiet with no queues, which made the whole experience much more relaxed, especially with a young child.

The zoo is well laid out and easy to get around, and our little one loved seeing the animals without crowds around. It felt calm and unhurried, which made a big difference.

The ticket price was great as there was a 25% discount, which made the visit excellent value for money. We also stopped for food and were pleasantly surprised – the food staff were great, very friendly and helpful, and the food itself was really nice. The only downside is that the food was a bit expensive, but that’s fairly standard for attractions like this.

Overall, a lovely visit and a great day out for both adults and toddlers. We’d definitely recommend visiting early in the week if you can.

We went to Hertfordshire Zoo to meet family. My son had shown me One Zoo Three on CBBC and said he would like to go and that was a great decision.

The Zoo itself is separated by a well controlled access road to effectively split it into 2 halves, the anima side and land of the dinosaurs. The Land of the Dinosaurs is a good walk around with more than just the stereotypical dino statues to see. There are a few interactive points on the walk round and photo ops.

The animal half is really good. There are a good selection of big cats, Lions, Tigers, Jaguar and Snow Leopards along with gibbons, camels, sun bears and the usual smaller mammals and reptiles including an Anaconda and Reticulated python. The viewing areas for the animals are great. Elevated positions are fantastic to get a good view. There are also 2 of 4 Sengi in the Uk on display that are really worth trying to find as they look so strange but sweet.

Food was good and reasonably priced for an attraction.

It is clear from the history wall that a lot of time, effort and money has been spent to make Hertfordshire Zoo a top attraction. This was a great day out.

We visited Hertfordshire Zoo for our little animal lover and One Zoo Fan’s 7th birthday. He absolutely loved it!! As did we all. It didn’t disappoint and each member of staff went above and beyond to make his day special. We even got to meet Tyler, which was such a special treat for the birthday boy.

The Zoo was amazing - spotlessly tidy, relaxed, not too busy, with an impressive array of well cared-for, happy animals. We did the mini zoo keeper experience and Tippy was fantastic as our guide. So helpful, informative and patient. It was a great experience. We especially loved the attention to caring for the animals and enrichment. Overall an amazing experience and we hope to return again and again. Thank you, Hertfordshire Zoo! ❤️

Really lovely zoo with good sized enclosures and a clean maintained feel. There are plenty of viewing options for different areas meaning you have a strong chance of seeing every animal. We enjoyed the flying display with great commentary so you can learn more about the species. My husband liked all the different walkways meaning you can look into enclosures and get a few steps in!

We mainly came for the zoo part but did enjoy the dinosaur walk through. We didn't realise the models moved so that was a fun surprise!
