Christmas Shopping is now on the minds of many and what a bonus it is that Bolton Council have confirmed that shoppers will get FREE parking in Bolton at certain times over the festive and new year period.
Businesses in Lancaster have voted yes to making the city centre a Business Improvement District (BID). Turnout in the ballot was 40% with 67% of businesses by number voting in favour and 61% in favour by size. The vote was independently managed by the Electoral Reforms Service.

Alexander James has been creating top class English Country events clothing for nearly 4 decades. Founded by experienced tailor Alan Little who was born and bred in Lancashire, the company has a real north west feel about it. Alan’s store currently resides in Swinton, specialising in sportswear for riding, hunting and shooting, and providing garments for various other special events too.
The idea started with Jim Black, a resident of Chagrin Falls, a close-knit village in Cleveland's eastern suburbs that is part artist colony and part bedroom community. Black posted the email to a group of his friends. "Let's show our support for one of our local businesses," he wrote. "I challenge everyone to spend AT LEAST $20 at the hardware on the 21st."
As Christmas approaches some of you may muttering "bah, humbug" into your scarves but as the cold takes hold it's not all doom and gloom, there's still time to party!
