Wonderful experience
I highly recommend Hertfordshire Zoo if you have some family members who love dinosaurs and animals.
The dinosaur walk is amazing. It has a wide variety of Dino's, some of which move around when you walk by. It was interesting to spot which dinosaurs had young or eggs. It was also fascinating to listen to the sounds the different species of dinosaurs made.
Our favourite dinosaurs were the Ankylosaurus, T-rex, and Raptors.
The ground is even and walkable all throughout both sides of the zoo and has accessible habitat viewing areas. We appreciated the ramps for accessibility. Additionally, there is seating throughout the zoo for rest and photo opportunities.
Our favourite animals to visit were the monkeys and the big cats. (There is a fun "spot the jaguars prey" activity for the children around the viewing area of the habitat at the moment. Keep an eye out, parents!)
It was lovely to see the habitats well maintained and filled with things for animal enrichment. It is clear the animals are well taken care of by their lovely keepers and Zoo staff. And it's clear that great effort is put in so people of any age and ability can have a great day.
The talks throughout the day were informative and easy to follow for everyone. The staff were brilliant during the talks.
We especially loved the Bird talk, where we learned that the red legged seriema can run up to 40mph!
Highly recommend the talks. Just remember to check the times and prioritise the talks you wish to attend the most. I advise arriving a few minutes early to ensure a good view if you have littles.
I also recommend getting to the Zoo at opening or a little after if you would like to arrive when it's less busy. That way their is a shorter wait time, and you have the rest of the day to explore and enjoy.

It was 2019. For my husband 70th birthday we got him "Feed the Tigers" experience. The Tiger was Elana. Absolutely stunning animal. Along with the keeper he hand fed her. The whole day was just wonderful. All the animals seemed well fed and happy.

We got tickets and the behind the scenes morning tour and would 100% recommend. Despite the torrential rain Simon gave us a lovely and informative tour really tailoring it to myself and my boyfriend which was a great start to our day before wandering around ourselves. We saw almost all the animals despite the weather and all the keepers were so friendly! It doesn't look much on the map but we managed to spend 4 hours at the zoo as just two adults not using any play equipment or looking at the dinosaur trail.

Absolutely fantastic day out amazing to see such beautiful animals and how well looked after they are best to get there as early as possible to get the best out of the day staff where incredible very helpful friendly passionate and full of knowledge incredible people a huge thank you to all the staff and volunteers for your hard work to make our day out incredible 10/10

Fantastic Zoo! We visited because 'One Zoo Three' on CBBC is our sons favourite programme. The staff are so friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Cam and Aaron very kindly had a photo with our son. He nearly burst with happiness when meeting his idols. Simon is a fantastic asset to the zoo. Chatted to us for a while about our shared love of tortoises. Our son would love to work with Simon when he's older.
