Thursday 6th August 2026
Hi *|FIRSTNAME|*,
For those of you who were fortunate enough to have gone to the 12 HR CHARITY WALKING FOOTBALL EVENT at Harborough Town Football Club (HTFC) last Sunday, you will have had an amazing day.
No less than 16 of the leading walking football teams from across the country, including a side representing England Walking Football, took part in matches throughout the day, and included a special exhibition match featuring a celebrity team against the Kick Out Cancer Walking Football Team.
But aside from the family fun and meeting loads of celebrities from the sporting world, the event raised a staggering £6,000 for Prostate Cancer UK. So HUGE congratulations to all who took part, the organisers and of course everyone who donated to make this such a special occasion.
You can read more about it here. And sticking with football and HTFC, the newly promoted club are about to start their 2026/7 campaign in the National League North Division this Saturday 8th August with an away fixture at Kings Lynn Town, and then their first home fixture against Morecombe the following Saturday 15th August. Your support will be appreciated more than ever as they venture into this new era for the club, so go along if you can and enjoy the occasion.
EVEREST LOUNGE RESTAURANT in St Mary's Road has formed a new partnership with HTFC to offer special match day meal deals for both home and away fans, and BROOKSIDE DENTAL, also in St Mary's Road is the new HTFC football shirt sponsor, so HUGE congratulations to them also.
As you would expect, there is still loads going on in and around the town at this time of year, so keep a close eye on our Events page, and if you have a special community occasion with public interest you'd like to shout about, don't forget you can promote it for FREE (after being scrutinised for our approval!) on
