Welcome to a new month and to this week's news update.
It's always good to celebrate new shops opening in the town, (much better than news of closures etc!) even if it's news of a larger version of what's already here!
No I'm not talking about the new Aldi supermarket in Rockingham Road, (that's old news now), but the new JOULES clothing store (40 The Square, LE16 7PA - next to The Old Grammar School ) which opens TODAY (Thursday 2nd October) from 9.30am. With scratch cards and prizes to be given away, if you get down there early enough, you might also be welcomed with a cinnamon bun (or similar)! Anyway, as a true Market Harborough family business success story, we wish the new store, owners and staff every success and a fabulous opening day!

And being the 1st Thursday of the month, you can also take full advantage of all the fresh produce on sale at the HARBOROUGH FARMERS MARKET in the Square, open today from 9am - 3pm.
October is of course the month of HALLOWEEN and shops in town are already full of merchandise to enhance the occasion. And yes, there are plenty of Halloween themed events taking place throughout the month to 'get your teeth into'! One such event is the
HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR AND PUMPKIN PATCH at Windmill Farm Park, Kibworth Harcourt, open weekends, and then daily from 18th October -31st October. Go and check out their website for full details of this and other forthcoming events at this brilliant events venue.
The highly popular annual PUMPKIN FESTIVAL at Farndon Fields is already underway, where you can 'load up your wheelbarrow full of pumpkins and squashes of all shapes, sizes and colours with plenty of varieties to choose from!'. For all details,

And you may have noticed that 'hospitality establishments' - hotels, pubs and restaurants - are all getting ready for 'Christmas' - (there, I said the C word) by presenting their festive menus to attract your parties. One such pub/restaurant is THE FOX INN at Wilbarston -

We're also excited to publish our new feature page for
SU & SHI JAPANESE RESTAURANT in Abbey Street later this week, so please look out for details on our website.
