Hi ,
Who doesn't love a long weekend? Luckily, we can enjoy a long weekend this weekend as Monday 1st May is May Day.
Why do we celebrate May Day? May Day is an ancient spring festival in the northern hemisphere that is a traditional spring holiday in many cultures with dancing and singing taking part of the celebrations.
The origins and celebrations of May Day have a rich history, and the earliest May Day celebrations are thought to have occurred during the Roman era when children would celebrate the coming of spring with a day of dancing dedicated to the goddess Flora.
