We stayed for 2 nights at Whites. The staff had been incredibly helpful before our stay, with a problem with my booking due to illness. The hotel is lovely and modern, room clean, well equipped and comfortable. I used the pool, but didn't like the lack of natural light. Beware the lift that is marked to the leisure centre as it drops you in a locked basement (there is a notice inside, but I didn't see that till too late!). A bit scary I thought to be locked in. If you turn left our of the hotel, you are in the retail park. Lots of the restaurants were booked up on a Friday night, so may be wise to book a table. Turn right and go past the Premier Inn and you are at the train station. Trains to Manchester city centre are regular and the return fare is £3.90. Car parking at the hotel is free too which is a bonus. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Stayed here as I had client meetings nearby the next day
Rate from hotels.com was very good value and the room etc was great (amazing view of the Reebok pitch from my room, as it also doubles as an exec box on matchdays)
Staff were friendly enough, but could have been a little more pro active. The concierge guy was particularly unhelpful and sent me in the wrong direction for my meeting and said that they didn't have any umbrellas, when they clearly did
Would stay there again at that price - very nice breakfast for £8!

Once again, we came to this hotel on a £19 deal and once again, we were very pleasantly surprised. This time we were visiting as a family after the arrival of our little boy, now 6 months old. Our room looked out on to the car park this time, rather than on to the pitch, but I assume this was because we needed a bit larger room to accommodate the travel cot. One problem with this was that there was no way to get to the room without going up a few stairs which meant we couldn't take the buggy to the room. The room itself was standard with a hospitality tray (only one hot chocolate sachet and one pack of biccies though!).

We ate in the bar of the hotel and the service was great. They were very attentive and accommodating, getting a high chair for our baby and generally making a fuss over him! When he fell asleep in Daddy's arms, they were happy to let us take him to our room and for my husband to come and pay afterwards (wallet was in the pocket underneath the baby).

Again, the location was perfect for us as we came to do some shopping (next to a retail park) and enjoy the leisure facilities at the hotel. One quibble would be that children are only allowed in the pool from 9am - 6pm. As our baby wakes up at 6am on the dot, this meant that we were kind of hanging around for a long time after breakfast. The leisure facilities in the hotel are done well - lockers are now a refundable £1 to use, towels provided, good size changing rooms. There was a nice size pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and sunroom (didn't try this). There is a family changing room which has a pull-down changing unit for babies which proved very handy; only problem was that I had to lock the door to it whenever I changed my son as the unit pulled down right behind the door (meaning I'd be hit if anyone came in).

All in all, great value. Again. :-)

Normally use this hotel for business, but took advantage of one of there email offers to stay there with my wife. Reception was efficient as usual & my enquiry if there was "rooms with a view" available was greeted with "I'll check" and a "yes" was a pleasant surprise. Most of the rooms look over the car park and main road, the "rooms with a view" look out onto the football pitch. Room was modern with everything working, and breakfast was good.

We stayed here on our wedding night mainly due to convienience of traveling into Bolton. We got the pitch suite suite which was nice and the facilities were all there what you would expect from a De Vere Hotel.

The spa facilites where good and the breakfast choice was okay. I can't help feeling that this hotel now needs a bit of a facelift as its getting a bit dated.

Overall the stay was nice enough with a fantastic location.

We stayed here 29th June 2012 as we were going to see Stone Roses in Manchester, I booked the hotel only a few weeks before our stay as the majority of hotels in the surrounding area were full. What a bargain, the hotel was lovely and we were able to use the spa facilities. It is in a complex so if you want the option of shopping there is plenty of shops to keep you occupied, if you want to go into the centre of Bolton or Manchester this hotel is just off the motorway so very convenient. The staff are friendly, the hotel is spotless, unfortunately we didn't have a stadium view, I realise now I should have asked for one when I booked but as it was only £29 I felt a bit cheeky, after reading some reviews now I wish I had asked. We did have a wonder round the hotel and had a view from the restaurant of the pitch which was impressive. The rooms were comfortable and I would stay here again.

This hotel is part of the Reebok Stadium and my room overlooked the pitch; a very novel concept which I rather liked. The room itself was very clean, well furnished and comfortable. The hotel is lovely and breakfast had an excellent choice of food on the buffet. The room was an absolutely bargain for this quality of hotel with a gym and spa attached.

The only thing stopping this hotel from a rating of 'excellent' were the difficulties experienced at check-in. There were three of us booked in and none of the bookings were correct. One booking was missing altogether and we ended up paying again for that one as we had some of the booking details to hand but not the bit that confirmed we'd prepaid (which we'd done for all 3 rooms). Luckily, we had all the rest of the paperwork as they'd booked us in for two nights each instead of one. Still not sure we got the bills correct when we left to be honest!

The location is great, there is a retail park right next to the hotel and the Arena is just yards away. Loads of places to eat and drink are just a few minutes walk away.

I've stayed here a couple of times recently. The rooms are starting to get a bit frayed round the edges but everything works fine so no real complaint there. I'm really not impressed with the breakfast service all. Firstly, any hotel catering for business travellers really should be serving breakfast before 7am but, if they're going to start that late, surely it gives them a little extra time to clean the tables. On both recent visits, most of the crockery has been stuck to the table requiring some force to peel off (my last visit was with a colleague that also had the problem so it wasn't just me).
None of the food was labelled either, as usual, it was a serve yourself affair (which is how I prefer it) but I had to guess which fruit juice was which and it's usual to give guests a choice of types of milk, as that wasn't labelled either I can only assume that it was all the same.
On the positive side, the wireless broadband seems to work faultlessly and you can connect as many devices as you want to. There are plenty of sockets in the room. The huge televisions (the cabinet, not the screen!) appear to be something that Noah might recognize and only a small selection of freeview channels are available.
The hotel is very very well situated with a number of (chain) restaurants within strolling distance and there's a cinema a short walk away if you find the television channels too restrcting.

Took my 2 football mad grandsons for a nights stay in apitchside room as a birthday treat.Iwas slightly apprehensive after reading some reviews but was very pleasantly surprised with our stay.Booked in Sunday afternoon the young man on reception couldnt have been more helpful our request for pitchside rooms was granted with pleasure he also suggested we go for a swim in the spa as the rooms were not quite ready he even provided us with lovely fluffy towels.Spa was lovely and me and grandsons really enjoyed our swim.Rooms provided were excellent and we all slept soundly with no disturbances .There is a cinema bowling alley restaurants and shops right next door and within easy walking distance. There is also a Harvester pub across the road that does pub food and is probably better for children than the hotel fine dining. All in we had an excellent stay all the staff were friendly and helpful would stay again and can only say ignore the negative reports and try it yourself.Only complaints ,there were only bar meals availableSunday evening probably because of low guest numbers, and grumpy old men moaned at my grandsons for jumping in the spa pool they probably cant remember when they were kids jumping in the local baths. The breakfast was very nice and worth booking staff once again very helpful and couldnt do enough to help.Thank you Whites from my 2 grandsons for a BOSS stay.

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for a weekend. We booked a pitch view suite which was very nice but a bit of a squeeze with the extra bed, the 2 armchairs were squashed in as a result. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I would agree with previous comments that the hotel is beginning to look a little tired, I can't remember the last time I saw such a huge TV!, it took up so much room, surely it can't be that expensive to kit out the rooms with flat screens. All in all a pleasant stay.
