Stayed at Hotel Nice large rooms and well appointed
Sports complex nice
Friendly staff
would stay again
The only gripe was that we came to breakfast at 9am and the selection was a bit tired and service was slow even though there was only about 8 people in the restaurant.

We have been here before and this time tried a Penthouse Suite. It was so home from home that I told the receptionist I was moving in! The photos on the website do not do it justice at all. The hotel's locality makes it an ideal base for anyone visiting any of the major towns or cities, or even Blackpool and the Lakes. Lots of entertainment close by as well as shops! The hotel we feel is unique and we already have plans to return.

What a fabulous venue for both a Works Party and a Family Party New Years Eve. Looked after from the moment of booking till it was time to leave. The food was fabulous on both nights and the entertainment was excellent. Total value for money. Cannont praise all the staff enough definately going again in 2013.

We stayed one night in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the facilities were great, especially the lovely swimming pool and steam room. White's is in a great location, right next door to a shopping complex with plenty of restaurants if you don't want to eat in the hotel. Our room was large, very warm and comfy and I had a great night's sleep. The standards in this hotel were very high, with the exception of breakfast which we came to around 9am and found the staff flagging and the food area in need of attention. However, we mentioned our dissatisfaction to the manager and the matter was dealt with courteously and entirely to our satisfaction. I would love to return to this hotel and would definitely recommend it.

My husband and i visited this hotel for the second time last weekend and the standards are still very high. Could not fault anything. Great location for retail therapy, the spa treatments and pool after a busy day were perfect and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Will deffinately return and reccomend this hotel to others.

I like this hotel because there are lots of shops around it plus it's near the Trafford centre so you can combine shopping with relaxation.

Let's start with the rooms/appearance etc. well we had a pitch view room which I loved! The is a more expensive room but it's still quite small. Whites is 4* but as I've been staying over the course of a few years I can see some things need upgrading. It was very clean but just dated in some areas (mirror frame chipped, bathroom dated). This is an observation not criticism as what we got was excellent value for money.

The bar area, reception etc are lovely nice glass lift and candles on the steps a lovely touch. We didn't eat in the restaurant this time round, but did have drinks at the bar (expensive but good service).

We had breakfast served in our room (£3 charge and worth it!) full English with double everything and cereals/juice/toast whatever you want.

Jacuzzi broken and didn't use the pool this time (have in the past and it was very nice).

You can have late check out til 2pm so worth a tenner as it gives you a more leisurely Sunday.

Will be going back! Ps laterooms etc not aways the best deal - ring the hotel direct as some great offers on especially on non match days.

Literally booked the night before as we had to unexpectedly go up to Wigan. Booked through our normal hotel booking site and it was £95 then found through the DeVere website itself it was only £79.00 so we cancelled the first and rebooked. Upon our arrival having never been in a football stadium in my life i asked if we could have a room with a view of the pitch. They were very happy to provide one. Well it may not be a Cathedral, the Sea or the mountains but it is an extraordianry view. Looking straight out onto the pitch with patio doors that could open straight onto the stands (I presume if you had bought a football ticket). Quite incredible i could not stop looking out. The room itself was great for £79, dressing gowns, complimentary water. Televison was bit old and very high up on the wall but we were not there to watch the television. Bed a bit soft for my taste but ok. Bathroom and complimentary toiletries small but adequate size.
We met friends for drinks and spent a very pleasant couple of hours drinking on the large sofas. Unusally there were lots of seating areas all around. We did not eat breakfast so cannot comment on food. Very modern hotel and quite innovative of them to make use of the stadium all year round.
Staff very friendly.
Also did not have time to swim or use the health club.
Even for someone with not one drop of interest in football it was quite an experience. Only looking when i got back at the website makes me think that we might have been upgraded to a pitch view suite, not sure. But if you were a footie fan would be great to have a room and watch a match. Am guessing would probably not be £79 !!

The main reason we booked was to extend a weekend away by another night with the "dine with wine" deal. It really is an absolute bargain and I feel a bit petty making any criticisms at all given the value, but I will give a full review anyway.

Directions and parking are brilliant, as was the simple check-in and check-out. The superior room was akin to a Premier Inn or similar in that it was OK but nothing special. No aircon, only one shampoo, a bed that was OK but that had seen better days, and with a view of the car park. One reason we had booked was the availability of the pool area, but that was pretty small and drab, so really it is functional rather than an attraction.

The waitress for dinner was very friendly and helpful. With three courses and wine included the whole stay cost around the same as an average meal out for two, and with the rack of lamb being excellent and the wine which was better than expected, the disappointing starter and dessert could be forgiven.

Breakfast again was average. The decaf coffee was undrinkable and there were waits for breakfast items and fruit juice glasses whilst the (presumably) breakfast manager chatted to customers and ignored the deficiencies around her.

In summary, it was an average stay at an unbelievably cheap price, so five stars for value but only three for the quality of the stay.

If you are visiting for a football match (like we were) this is the perfect hotel. On a freezing cold day, I was in my warm room in little over a minute after the final whistle.

I left it a bit late to book for a match day so was unable to bag a pitch view room, but the room we had was good. Good bed and very clear and serviceable.

However, the TV was like something from the 1990's. The hotel needs to realise all programs are in wide screen now, and the only thing this relic would have been good for would have been Donkey, Kong, Pac Man or Space Invaders.

We had dinner in the main restaurant, which was at best, just about OK. 3 Steaks were ordered Rare. One was medium, one was well done and the other would have snapped in half and given me splinters if I had bent it in half.

However, a complimentary bottle of wine was offered as an apology and 3 more steaks - medium were soon wheeled out. I realised this was as good as it was going to get, so didn't make another complaint - plus the wine was very nice!

Breakfast was comparable to that of a Premier Inn in terms of selection and quality, although a bit more expensive. Nothing to fault in particular, but next time I would give this a miss.

All the staff were very friendly and the pool was excellent, although the Jacuzzi was shut. It had been for some weeks we were told, so this could have easily been relayed at booking.

Our visit was on a cold March day, so the lack of air conditioning in the room was not a bother.

I would return here without a doubt. Next time though, I would look at the fixtures and book early to try and secure a pitch view room. I would also make use of the eateries on the retail park rather than the hotels restaurant.

Overall a modern, clean hotel, however, if you were not coming to a football match, I have no idea why this location would appeal to anyone - unless they were a fast food freak and wanted to be within a 5 minute walk of Pizza Hut, MacDonalds, Subway, KFC, Nando's and others I can't remember!
