This was our second stay at The De Vere Whites hotel. The rooms are small as an open wardrobe door actually touches the bed. The chair of the dressing table is immediately beside the wardrobe so if used this also blocks the space around the bed. A little annoying on occasions. Mattress could do with being replaced as ours was extremely creaky and sagged in the middle. Clean and tidy hotel, pleasant staff and ideal base for short commute to Manchester. Nice hotel but expensive.

Although we live in Bolton, my wife and I spent a night at De Vere White's to accommodate our our daughter's university friends.

The room was great, so was the service and the breakfast was superb.

We would certainly go there again in a similar situation.

I booked my for husband, 14 month old son and myself to stay 2 nights at the De Vere White Hotel whilst visiting friends. The reviews on Trip Advisor were positive; the website looked great and the price we paid for two nights was excellent value. The hotel is very plush, well appointed and maintained. On top of this, you benefit for A+ customer service from all staff: reception, bar, restaurant, house-keeping.

Staff could not do enough for us: nothing was too much trouble, exceptionally friendly and the restaurant teams for Saturday and Sunday morning all made my son so welcome and entertained - even though he was particularly "chatty".

We later found out that on Saturday night, the hotel had played host to 3 wedding receptions, a private party and a boxing event - you would never have known, as all evidence was gone by the morning.

An example of the brilliant attention to detail - when we returned to out hotel room Saturday afternoon, the house-keeping team had taken all my sons rubber ducks, lined them up together on the bath edge so they were all chatting to one another...it made me chuckle but I felt so grateful that they had taken him into consideration.

We hadn't booked to have breakfast as part of our deal, but decided to partake. It was fabulous; great freshly cooked breakfast (buffet style); a wide selection of cereals, fresh fruits, yoghurts, pastries, cold meats and cheese.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone; friends, familes, weekend breaks. We will most definately return, and hopefully very soon.

We booked this hotel for 1 night to attend a 50th party nearby. From check-in to check-out all staff were fantastic, propably the best service we have received from a UK hotel.

Room was smallish but comfortable. We had a drink at the bar before we went out and the staff here were very accomodating and interacted with our 5 year old.

We pre-booked breakfast and were welcomed by a happy, smiling young lady. Breakfast was of a high standard and as we had arrived quite close to 10 o'clock staff asked us if we'd had enough before they cleared the food away which was a nice touch.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone (and we didnn't even get chance to enjoy the leisure facilities!!)

Stayed here one night on way to Manchester airport to pick up family. Easy to find, parking was easy too right outside the hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was nice if a little dated, old style TV was disappointment. Excellent but expensive breakfast. Would stay again if in the area.

part of Bolton Wanderers Reebok Stadium so can't say what it would be like when a football match was being played. However, had an excellent stay in an easily accessible location. Very attractive hotel with very helpful staff. Room was excellent with all basic needs catered for. Comfortable bed and sound sleep enjoyed. Breakfast available but did not partake.

We stayed for 2 nights at Whites. The staff had been incredibly helpful before our stay, with a problem with my booking due to illness. The hotel is lovely and modern, room clean, well equipped and comfortable. I used the pool, but didn't like the lack of natural light. Beware the lift that is marked to the leisure centre as it drops you in a locked basement (there is a notice inside, but I didn't see that till too late!). A bit scary I thought to be locked in. If you turn left our of the hotel, you are in the retail park. Lots of the restaurants were booked up on a Friday night, so may be wise to book a table. Turn right and go past the Premier Inn and you are at the train station. Trains to Manchester city centre are regular and the return fare is £3.90. Car parking at the hotel is free too which is a bonus. I'd definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Stayed here as I had client meetings nearby the next day
Rate from hotels.com was very good value and the room etc was great (amazing view of the Reebok pitch from my room, as it also doubles as an exec box on matchdays)
Staff were friendly enough, but could have been a little more pro active. The concierge guy was particularly unhelpful and sent me in the wrong direction for my meeting and said that they didn't have any umbrellas, when they clearly did
Would stay there again at that price - very nice breakfast for £8!

Once again, we came to this hotel on a £19 deal and once again, we were very pleasantly surprised. This time we were visiting as a family after the arrival of our little boy, now 6 months old. Our room looked out on to the car park this time, rather than on to the pitch, but I assume this was because we needed a bit larger room to accommodate the travel cot. One problem with this was that there was no way to get to the room without going up a few stairs which meant we couldn't take the buggy to the room. The room itself was standard with a hospitality tray (only one hot chocolate sachet and one pack of biccies though!).

We ate in the bar of the hotel and the service was great. They were very attentive and accommodating, getting a high chair for our baby and generally making a fuss over him! When he fell asleep in Daddy's arms, they were happy to let us take him to our room and for my husband to come and pay afterwards (wallet was in the pocket underneath the baby).

Again, the location was perfect for us as we came to do some shopping (next to a retail park) and enjoy the leisure facilities at the hotel. One quibble would be that children are only allowed in the pool from 9am - 6pm. As our baby wakes up at 6am on the dot, this meant that we were kind of hanging around for a long time after breakfast. The leisure facilities in the hotel are done well - lockers are now a refundable £1 to use, towels provided, good size changing rooms. There was a nice size pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and sunroom (didn't try this). There is a family changing room which has a pull-down changing unit for babies which proved very handy; only problem was that I had to lock the door to it whenever I changed my son as the unit pulled down right behind the door (meaning I'd be hit if anyone came in).

All in all, great value. Again. :-)
