Having previously been to the Reebok Stadium to watch Arsenal play I had noticed this hotel when arrving at the stadium and decided to give it a try when next in the North West.
My wife and I decided to use this as a base for visiting Manchester .
We found the hotel offered value for money that we couldn't find in Central Manchester.
The room was clean and spacious enough for two, no complaints about the staff who were very helpful and after a very comfortable nights sleep we had a lovely breakfast as well.
I would have no problem in staying here again.

i become really irked when hotels offer great rates to stay then think that service doesn't matter - 2 weeks after my stay at this hotel i'm beginning to think De Vere Whites falls into this category!

the location of this hotel is great if you want to avoid central Manchester yet remain within easy distance of the city or the North West. it's also really pleasant in its design and is clean and welcoming on arrival. i also love the fact that this hotel has many places to sit and chill, enjoy a drink or a chat with friends or somewhere quiet to meet a business associate and i also love that you can pick up great deals... i stayed for less than £40.

the problem i do have is that, although i needed little the night i stayed the 2 things i did require - room service food and a morning newspaper - were both left wanting and that makes me wonder if the service is up to it.

i ordered sandwiches and a drink to the room and it took 55 minutes from my initial order; admitedly 10 minutes of these i was waiting for a new menu as the one in my room was outdated! the next morning i went to pick up my newspaper only to find that the one i'd requested was not the one i received.

both of these are small matters but they mattered to me, in order to make my stay more pleasurable - and let's face it 2 things wrong out of 2 isn't a great success rate!

finally, i left a written comment in my room for the attention of the manager and, as i write this, 2 weeks later i am yet to receive a response - that, for me, speaks volumes!

Stayed overnight on a groupons offer, food not included but lots of restaurants within walking distance. Not interested that much in football but amazing views of the stadium which is an integral part of the ground.

The leisure facilities were quite small and in the basement, but clean and adequate.

Friendly reception staff allowed us to check in early but our first room appeared to be noisy so we went back to reception who quickly gave us an internal room with fabulous views of the pitch. The room was nice except for the shower which had very low pressure but thats a minor issue. We didn't use the leisure facilities which looked nice . All in all it was a comortable stay and the location for us was excellent for touring the immediate area. Get this hotel on the Devere sale and its really good value

Stayed for 2 nights 2nd and 3rd May and booked last minuite - excellent value rooms, great location near motorway links. Use of leisure facilities included, and complimentary tea and coffee in rooms. Rooms are clean, comfortable and a good size. Walking distance to extensive shopping centre and restaurants, railway link and cinema. Nice bar area and large restaurants, 1 of which overlooks the pitch. Quiet pool with sauna and steam room. Very pleasant staff. Internet facility at the hotel but is chargeable. Enjoyed our stay here and would deffinately return.

This is not some dodgy travel inn, despite the fact that is is cheaper than a nearby Premier Inn, it is a proper hotel.

De Vere seem to have lost the plot with this property in that it is a great hotel, but they seem to want to compete at a much lower market sector than this place merits, its even got a gym and a pool. Where you notice this most is in the food, mainly bar nibbles and not proper meals, but loads of decent places to eat nearby.

Only downside to this hotel is that they rob you for internet access, £6/hour for wi-fi or £15/day for wired internet in the bedrooms - come on De Vere, sort it!

I took a group of Under 9 footballers plus parents to this hotel and everybody was delighted with their accommodation. Dealing with 9 year olds can be very challenging but we encountered nothing but friendly service and kindness from the wonderful staff who all seemed to take great pride in their jobs. I was very happy with my room which I thought was extremely clean.

The only negative was the price of the internet access but the hotel are working on this and they will have free Wi-fi soon. I am looking forward to visiting this hotel again.

Stayed here on a match day so it was busy but the parking is well organised with marshalls pointing you in the right direction. We had lunch in one of the hospitality suites which was very enjoyable with good service and atmosphere. Later we had dinner in the brasserie which was very nice as again was the service. The bedrooms, whilst perfectly functional are rather insipid and lack any charm but it was quiet and the bed comfortable so a good night's sleep was had. Breakfast was the usual fare with a good choice on the buffet and tea/coffee bought to the table. All in all, a perfectly functional hotel in a great location but it is rather lacking any character or charm.

I stayed at the De Vere Whites for one night as I had an exam in the same hotel the following day. When booking online, I was impressed by images of modern rooms overlooking a stadium and the four star status of the hotel made me think it would be clean, comfortable and have efficient service - I was wrong on all counts.
My room was small and very dark as it had a dark blue carpet, dark curtains and only a small window overlooking a dual carriageway and parking lot outside. I struggled getting enough light to study even with the curtains fully open. Apart from that everything looked overused and dated. I couldn't shower until I bought towels from neighbouring Tesco as I hadn't brought any towels with me thinking there would be an abundant clean supply from a four star hotel but what was in the bathroom had a strange odour and generally didn't look clean.
The brasserie wasn't open or nobody was there so I went to the bar looking for a sandwich and there was no one to take an order although the barman told me somebody would attend to me in a few minutes as everybody was on 'lunch break'. I thought it was odd that all of the waiters/waitresses in a hotel would go for lunch break at the same time. After waiting 30 mins, I gave up and complained to the bartender, he apologised and said he'd take my order but I went to my room to order food as room service. The bartender was the person who picked up the phone and at that point it seemed like I was in the hotel from Carry On Abroad with only a handful of people running the entire place. My food was there within a reasonable time but it was unedible with a rock hard panini and a gasless glass of coke with something fallen in it.
Breakfast at the Brasserie was alright but nothing special. Again, it was very difficult to find someone to be seated. Dinner at the restaurant upstairs was very good though and the staff there were very attentive. It's the only reason I've rated this hotel as a 3 star rather than a 2.
Location might suit some people being close to a train station and for those attending events in the hotel or matches, but I found it detached and isolated. Overall, I'd say De Veres Whites is definitely below standards for a 4 star hotel with insufficient staffing, dated and worn down interiors, not very hygienic and bad food in the bar. I would never stay here again and don't recommend it to anyone.

After reading the mixed reviews on this hotel we decided to go for it. We booked online a week before our stay last saturday night. Great deal at only £39 room only(The next door Premier Inn was £60). This was for a four star hotel so I thought tere would be a catch. Hotel was easy to find and well signposted with plenty of free parking. The room was good with coffee and tea facilities and free sky sports channels as well as pay for view movies. The only negative was the small window which made the room a little dull. My partner was attending a function at the hotel so I retired to the bar which was very welcoming and comfortable. We both had a good night's sleep and I went for breakfast the next day which was an extensive buffet at only £7.50 extra. The value and comfort of this hotel exceeded my expectations. I must also say the staff were very friendly and efficient especially the lady welcomer at breakfast who came over for a chat as I was by myself. We would certainly return. The only negative is it was confusing to access our room after check in as we had room 419 which is on the 3rd floor and there is no button in the lift for floor 3 of any directions of how to get there. Over to you Mr Manager!
